I've never posted in this forum before, but I wanted to give tribute to my favorite NASCAR driver, seeing as how he might retire.
He won last week. And this week, the last race of the year, he led the most laps. He was winning with one lap to go and his tire blew out :( But even still, great finish to his career if he does indeed retire.
Elliott is one of the good guys in sports. A gentlemen. A competitor. A winner. He was voted most popular driver many times in a row (until this year, when he refused the reward).
Elliott became my favorite driver when he won the first race I ever watched. He didn't win after that for many years. But I stuck with him b/c of his personality. He has rewarded that loyalty by winning some good races in the last few years.
I just wanted to post this b/c he's one of my favorite people in sports. I hope he stays arounda few more years. He finished in the top 10 this season, so he's still got the skills.
