View Full Version : What I Think Is The Reason They Went With RJ Instead Of Doug Flutie

Not that it even matters anymore, but I've had my idea of why TD and GW went with RJ instead of DF.
Well, they did know that it was going to be a year of rebuilding. Aquiring RJ was quite an investment (a few draft picks and a lot of money). They wanted to at least give him one more season to see if he would pan out and see if their investment was worth it. You can't invest that kind of money into a QB and throw him away without knowing for sure if he was worth it. Just think that if it were your money going into his pocket.
DF, on the other hand, was close to 40 years old and he really didn't have much youth left in him to be a starter (and he still doesn't). If he would have been starting up until now, I don't know if he would have had it in him to have the game that he had last Sunday. He's had a lot of rest for over a year.

That's just my take on that subject.

I'll go with what has recently been posted. And that was that RJ was the "yes" man. TD likes it that way.

Drew is too for that matter.

I just wish TD would have cut them the same year and quickened the cap mess along

LOL

As for those complaining, this is the "nfl" thread, and these guys are still playing in the NFL. At least be grateful this wasnt in the Bills forum. Honestly, I wouldnt complain if it was. Sometimes we see Jim Kelly mentioned in there, but nobody complains. This wasnt really that long ago, and now people have this newer forum to discuss it in that they didnt when it was occurring(well, unless they are really old school board members). If nobody is interested, the thread will die.
