I just heard on ESPN that Jeremy Shockey may be back in as little as 3 weeks, after he got a 2nd opinion. While I like his crazy style and the way he knocks over defenders, I was kind of hoping our secondary wouldnt be among them this year.

Which makes me even more scared! I'd fear facing him more than an elite receiver.

Yea forget him, he only leds the giants in receptions, and total yards.
In 9 games played; 48 REC 535 TOT 11.1 REC/a catch 59.4 Yards a game and 2 TD's.
If he was't hurt he'd led their team in almost every recieving category. I don't think you'd forget a teams leading reciever, especailly a tight end that is strong like shockey.

I'm really glad I wasnt the only one to see the significance of this. Shockey is a weapon, and has the warrior spirit I wish some of our guys had.

Shockey is an overated ****
straightJ
what do you think of Terrell Owens?

Owens rips his OWN OC and his OWN QB. Far different from Shockey's antics. He doesnt run people over the same way either. And he didnt call parcells a h*mo either. :)

How is that a double standard? Shockey never attacked his QB or screamed in front of TV cameras at his offensive coordinator. Shockey is more of a team player than TO will ever be. TO is in the same category as keyshawn johnson. If he was on TB, he'd probably would have suffered the same consequences earlier. I don't think I am alone on this one, MR.

T.O. wants the ball when the team is losing; he verbalizes it to his OC
Shockey wants the ball when they are losing too (see articles and interviews with him  -he wants the ball more); he just hasn't yelled at his coach -yet
T.O. pulls out a sharpie and dances with pom-poms
Shockey calls Parcells a **** and flips off the fans
T.O. loves the spotlight/attention
Schockey loves the spotlight/attention
T.O. is a headcase
Shockey is a headcase
At least T.O. hasn't made fun of Drew Bledsoe's dad and his Parenting with Dignity program. I don't think that was called for by JS.

You're hatred is apparent. I dont necessarily want Shockey on our team, but I dont think he is the headcase TO was. Everyone wants the ball more. But the rookie and a half has had more self-control than TO, in my humble opinion. Regardless, my whole point with this thread is that if he is back, that would damage our chances of winning.

The Bills are pissed at him.... they won't let him do any damage.
Winfield will blanket him one on one all day and hold him to 2 catches or less. You heard it here first.
Plus, has Shockey ever taken over a game? The only TE who ever has the past 20 years is Tony G... and even that is rare.
I'm not worried.

I was going to say, the middle of our secondary is our weakness. I dont think we can allocate Winfield to Shockey with the receivers the Giants have. I am not sure which tight ends have taken over games, but long time Drew fans know Ben Coates did a heck of a job in New England. Shannon Sharp did well with Denver and Baltimore... I could go on, but a TE cant be overlooked, especially one who regularly runs guys over.

well, these boys have to try and tackle travis in camp.... they'll be ok.
IF Winfield is on him, he'll be eliminated from the game. I guarantee it. He's done it a couple times in his career. He's covered Tony Gonzalez (although this year they tried putting other players on him... morons), Randy McMicheal (2nd game last year, not sure about this year)), and Shannon Sharpe (about 50/50 with Coy Wire when Watson was getting burned they moved him back) the last few years with sucess.
And he won't run over the best takling CB in the NFL.Winfield is like that guy from Washingon long ago.... Fischer. Probably better as far as overall CB play goes.

Winfield is a great player, I wont argue with you. We'll see what happens in 7 days, if Shockey even plays. If our defense didnt crumble in the 4th, this would have been a big game.

Oh god, it wasn't nearly the defenses fault. I was there. The offense SUCKED and Bledsoe was HORRIBLE.
But that Marus Pollard and Dallask Clark killed us today right? We can't stop any TE's.... :D

Those 2 guys arent Shockey. Also, I'd say when you have an 11 point lead with 11 or 12 minutes to go in the game, it isnt the offense's fault if you lose.

Don't forget they saved a TD earlier in the game by forcing a fumble at the half. They kept an offense that averaged 30 pts a game to just 17. They forced 3 and outs and gave the offense opportunities.

I totally agree with you. Overall the D played well, but they were handed their biggest lead in ages in the 4th, and it seemed like it became a prevent D, although maybe not officially.
