...now, if there ever was a definitive sign of desperation...I don't know it....The Black Hole is going to eat him up as a late morning croissant.

"The Raiders have signed veteran QB Rob Johnson.
The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Rob Johnson. In order to make a roster spot for Johnson, the Raiders released running back/kick returner Ronney Jenkins."

Nobody's like Jim Plunkett and Rich Gannon made names for themselves playing for the Raiders. If Rob's bad luck runs out he might have a chance of following in their steps.

I have seen RJ carve the Colts up(live), and watched special teams wreck a Johnson playoff victory(on tv). What has Mirer EVER done?

rick mirer is terrible. I think RJ could resurrect his career here, but then again, Sopo's the man. I think RJ's just gonna turn into Tony Banks. A QB that can win a game in relief if he doesn't screw up like he did in the past.

Sopo is out for the season according to reports. Right now it's only Mirer, Johnson, and Gannon when he comes back. Gannon might be a more patient teacher than gruden is.

this guy just will not go away. He's going to be a professional "body on the bench" for the rest of his career. I can't believe he's made it through 9 NFL seasons.

I feel sorry for Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, two hall of fame wideouts and two quaterbacks that will not ge them the ball. Well the Raiders should have a high draft pick so they can draft Manning to replace Gannon.

I am stunned that an NFL team has picked this guy up. How is it a guy who is horrible and gets fired from several teams in the the past 2 years can still find a job??? This guy is a horrible QB and will be a bench warmer for the rest of his career.
