Sir Ranulph Fiennes has begun the final race in an attempt to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
The British adventurer is completing his challenge in New York - racing around the city's five boroughs.....
But the 59-year-old and his running mate Dr Michael Stroud, 49, appeared fit for the final leg - which they have predicted they will complete in five-to-six hours........
The pair have so far completed runs on the Falkland Islands, Santiago in Chile, Sydney, Singapore, London and Cairo.

He's trying to do something that is very challenging, that few people can accomplish. Why does that make him insane?

You're right, it doesn't make him insane. But on the other hand, it doesn't mean he's not either. Lots of insane people can accomplish challenging and/or great things. Just ask Sigmund Freud. My question. WHY???
IMO, he's nuttier than a fruitcake.

A brother like me is going insane! ....seriously though, the only insane part of his antics was trying to run through all 5 buroughs of NY. Ambling around in any of them can be dangerous enough.
