Thanks to those at the Buffalo Range for the basketball forum.

So who is your favorite NBA team?

I got away from basketball after Jordan retired for the second time and had not really paid much attention to it up until last years playoffs. Watch the Mavs last year brought me back because of the high scoring games they played. But I will have to say the Raptors are my favorite team just because they are the closest team to Buffalo. Anyway I am kinda excited for this season and watching a little NBA basketball.

My fave is my hometown Raptors. I like watching the Mavs and Kings cause of their style of ball. I like watching the Lakers so I can boo against them.

Bring back the BRAVES!!!

Basketball (NBA) just hasn't been the same since Snyder sold our team to that heartless John Y. Brown and screwed us out of professional b-ball.

I immediately hopped on the Sixers bandwagon (Dr J, Moses Malone, Mo Cheeks, World B. Free, Bobby Jones, etc) and picked up with the Pistons when they got I. Thomas (Long live the Bad Boys!), so Philadelphia and Detroit are the teams I follow the closest.

As for college - Syracuse Orangeman, reigning NCAA National Champions - Always have been an Orange fan, always will be :D.

I like Charlotte basketball. I have since the day it was created. So until the Bobcats debut, I have no team to root for. Well....I can always root against the Hornets. BURN IN HELL NEW ORLEANS!!!

im a Cavs fan. Mark Price was the man. He, Brad Daughrty, Hot Rod Williams, Larry Nance, Craig Elohe and co. used to tear it up, until they played Jordan's Bulls. Then came the dark ages where Shawn Kemp decided to retire in Cleveland, he was on the team and started and everything, but it was as if he wasnt even there, which led to a lot of bad play, and bad drafts (except Miller, but he left) because our GM sucks, but he couldn't screw up the LeBron pick, and he got the right coach in Silas, so things are looking up.

Sixers have had the Answer for me since Dr.J and Moses Malone. My walls were filled with posters of those two.

That would be good for your area to bring another high profile entertainment product to your city but with the sabres not selling out their games (unless the the leafs on in town) I don't see how your city has a chance bringing a nba team back.

The raptors since they have been in the league almost 10 years. Wow time flys bye! Before that it was any team that was fun to watch or had a superstar on it.

I was a long time Celtics fan, but 6-7 years ago I stopped liking the NBA b/c players switched teams too often and it became such a 1 on 1 game.

I have, however, gotten back into the NBA for a few reasons:
1. I love fantasy sports so I got back into all the stats
2. My hatred for the Lakers was re-ignited by their return to the top.
3. The Syracuse national championship season had me watching or listening to all of Carmello's games.

That brings me to a stirring conclusion. As of this NBA season I am once again a fan of the league and my new favorite team is the....

Denver Nuggets

I do agree that it was dumb to get rid of Bremer. They could have used him at the point this year. Plus he has been draining threes like it's nobody's business.

I don't follow basketball anymore, and I rarely watch games, but I used to pay more attention to the NBA when I was younger. Me and my old man would sit and watch the Celtics. Back in the 80's . I lost intrest in basketball long ago. Mainly because the Celtics have sucked for so long.

Now, if it wasn't for the paper, to see who is in first, and who is in last, I could care less.

My opinion only,

The Raptors should do what the Bullets and Celtics did, play one or two games a season at their secondary market to increase awareness of the franchise. The Bullets kind of had to when they left Baltimore since they started there, but the Celtics used to play in Hartford occasionally. The Raptors should come to HSBC once or twice a year for a regular season game. Is there an NBA rule that prohibits this?

why would they, the raptors have been in the top 7 in attendence since moving to the acc a few years ago. Furthermore, the raptors have one of the highest costs of tickets in the NBA so why would they move a game or two to buffalo when people in buffalo complain about the costs of sabres games which are the lowest in the NHL. They raptores owners, MLSE will not be stupid enough to pi** off the season tickets holders by taking a couple of games to buffalo, because of the costs of games. This is not the sabres who are in survival mode to get as attract as many from other areas then buffalo to sell out their games, by taking a game to rorchester they hope that will help their team but right know Toronto doesn't have to do that to sell their games. Do you really think that buffalo has the money to support a NBA team at the prices they are at, I thin not.

One or two games per annum will not break the bank of Buffalonians. Western New York, although hit hard by the loss of heavy industry, is hardly the Third World. The novelty of the sport would cause it to be a sell-out; done every year it would be renewable revenue for the franchise. American dollars too, not Canadian. Regionalization for any franchise, across any sport, solidifies that team.

I'm just saying that with the troubles of your hockey team has in selling games, I don't think they would want a team there to take away people's entertainment money and have them spend on another team. Since they will not get any of the benefits from it as well as the money generated from this event, would go to the raptors owners MLSE.
