What is with this $50,000 fine Warren Sapp got issued for bumping into a ref before the game on Sunday. What happened for this fine to be so high, I can picture WS jumping around like a moron that he is an bumping to the ref. I am tired of these refs thinking they are premadonnas and nobody better touch me or bump into me or I'm going to call your mommas and tattle. If I was a player in the NFL I would take every opportunity to knock a ref on his arse during the field of play if he was near the activity.
The league should start fining these refs for all the bad calls that are made every game.

There needs to be some control. If they let something like that slide, then the next time would be worse.

Let what slide? What are the refs doing near the players before the game anyway. They should stay in the corner somewhere until the game starts. The game about the players not the refs.

Did you see what he did?
The ref was on the field before the game. Probably because he needs to be there!
Near the players? Sapp was doing his lame ass bunny hop across the field!
It looked to me like it was intentional. Vicious, no. Intentional, yes.
Hey I hate the way the refs call the games too, but there is no excuse for that.

To be honest I didn't see what he did. I was thinking they were in the tunnel or somewhere near there. Now I see he was doing that ugly dance of his. But still I would have to say that $50k seems pretty steep for dancing around and bumping a ref. Where does that money go to anyway?

Uggg.
Not to take it out on you, but if there is one thing I can absolutely not stand, it’s people who comment on things they didn’t see.

Sapp is an a-hole, I hope someone clips him someday and like a prison guard the official looks the other way.

I know but I heard it on the radio today and I just had this picture in my head.

Classic double-standard for the NFL again.
Brian Urlacher called the refs quite a few names that are not alllowed to be repeated on this board and probably some R-rated movies. Nobody said a word.
Sapp was excessively (not improperly) fined for bumping a ref (who said nothing to him at the game, and never complained to the league either)... most likely it was a fine based on what he did in Indy and maybe a few more incidents over his career that they couldn't get him for.
(BTW, no bf1, the ref was not supposed to be on the field.. not that he wasn't allowed, but he was not required)
But still, why wasn't Urlacher fined?
Same with Shockey trying to punch Sam Madison, flipping the bird to the SF fans, and calling Parcells a ****. Because these guys are darlings, Sapp is not.

Saying this cynically: You haven't watched to many Bills games in the past few years have you. I mean the refs are always negatively impacting the games for us.

What about what Sapp said yesterday on NFL live about the NFL higher ups being slavemasters. Now that should make him retire just like they made Rush Limbaugh resign when what he said actually is true, McNabb sucks and is overrated.

Sapp acts like an ass, he needs to grow up. What was the point of kicking the pilon? He is more immature than my 8 year old. The fine was for everything he has done lately, i wish he had run through Washingtons line and Arrington had backed up his threat.
And to listen to his "slave master says dont to it" bullcrap really pisses me off. The last thing i want to hear is some 6 million dollar a year football player comparing himself to a slave. Warren get some respect for what slaves actually had to endure before you pop off again. My guess if a slave from back in the day heard him and saw they way he lives they would want to choke it out. Warren you have a choice, they didn't if you dont like the rules of your job quit, otherwise shut the hell up.
Moulds play your race arguments somewhere else its a broken record. Sapp is deliberatly flaunting his disregard for the rules immediatly after he gets warned about stuff.
The ref has just as much right to be on the field as the players, it is thier office. To say they should wait in the tunnel or something is assinine how would you like saying you need to stay in the closet all day at your job/school. Give the refs a break they are people and should be shown some respect as a person.
