Tom Hanks - the gold standard. Hardly anybody is as versatile.

Pacino&DeNiro - They're the same guy, but they're both so damn good. Although DeNiro went outside of his usual role in "Meet the Parents" - which is the best "awkward movie" ever. Pacino's voice is great; and carried Any Given Sunday on his back. Godfather goes without saying.

Denzel Washington - does anyone else think of him as a school principal? Any team he speaks you just want to fold your arms in your lap and say "yes sir". Kind of like Tom Donahoe.

Damon is awesome as much as I don't like his boy-band appearnance (same with Tom Cruise). Haven't seen many Ed Norton films but he was great as "Worm" in Rounders with Damon.
I like Jack Nicholson, Jason Lee, and Samuel L. too.

Also - Vince Vaugh is one of those one-dimensional actors that does what he does extremely well. if you're in College and you haven't seen Swingers.....I don't know what to tell you.
Speaking of Swingers, Ron Livingston was in that and Office Space - 2 of the top 5 greatest movies ever, so he deserves mentioning for that alone.

George Clooney doesn't act. Neither does Kevin Costner.

Hoffman is a Rochester boy - as is Taye Diggs.

Okay MVDaBomb, who are we kidding? By best actor, we mean the "hottest" men:

Kurt Russell
Ed Burns
That guy from The Ring (stupidest movie ever)
John Cusak

I love Morgan Freeman even though he doesn't really turn me on. My favorite role? The Easy Reader.

Christopher Walken is #1

De Niro is great. he can do serious and comedy. an all-round great actor. Pacino thirves in the right roles, but still great. Brando, i think is over-rated and his cockiness at thinking he is the best annoys me, so that takes him down in my standing.

how did i forget johnny depp?? the one great actor who has never been type casted. he has done so many different roles and portrayed them all perfectly that he is a shinning example of a true actor.

a little too type-casted to be in the greats of all time. he was awesome, no doubt, but he always did the same kinds of movies. he needed more variety (granted he was before my time and feel free to correct me if i am wrong)

rounders was my prime example for putting damon in my list of faves. i also loved him in Dogma. and if u think ed norton was great in rounders, u have to see Primal Fear. his greatest role i think.

have u seen O Brother Where Art Thou?? i think that was his best role and he was hilarious in his character portrayal. if u couldn't act, then u couldn;t be in that movie. the characters made the movie and i loved it. and yes, Christopher Walken is a great actor. i forgot him too and i am beating myself up over it.
