As per your poll option "When did the Ducks get black in their colors?":

The Ducks have always had black as color. In their main crest, black has been the backdrop of the duck goalie mask. As a matter of fact, in the 97-98 and 98-99 seasons (the first of which the Ducks unveiled their 2nd and 3rd versions of third jerseys), the Ducks wore black pants. The even wore black helmets on the road.

Beginning the 99-2000 season, the Ducks dropped their 3rd version (the dark one) of a third jersey and returned to marroon pants and helmets.

This new third jersey, their NHL record 4th, was supposed to go along with new home and road jerseys, but that was scrapped late in the process because of them going to the SCF. I guess those weren't jinxed after all;) ... well I can't think of another reason.

The black is very minor in their jerseys. The Avs wear black shorts and helmets but I do not think of black as one of their colors. The Bills have a little gray in their pants, but I never think of gray as one of the Bills colors. The Ducks should stick to purple, green, and yellow for their colors.
