OK, so I read between the lines a little too often, but in his press conference today Darcey talked about talks with Satan:

"We talked very openly about the hockey club, where and how he fits in and his importance to this hockey club. He has a very important role here and he has the opportunity for that role to expand. "

What more can expanding be? He plays the PK, PP and is the teams leading scorer. It either means more points or that they're going to bump his "A" up to a "C".

I was thinking the C there as well.

He's been far and away the team's #1 forward when it comes to ice time in any situation, so I find it hard that that stuff would be changing.

The only thing that could change would be giving him the C.

Some people may scoff at the idea, but I think he would do just as well as guys like Alfredsson and Naslund as a captain.

He's been Captain of the Slovak team for at least the World Cup, if not the Olympics.

Yup, he was the team captain when the Slovaks won the 2002 World Championships.

I think it would be a solid move, especially if it means getting him signed for a while. With the number of European captains in the NHL today, I don't think there is anything wrong with naming Miro as the captain. Especially since he's been their offensive leader for so long.
