What are his chances of making the cut? It looks like he has the tools and the heart to play in the NHL.

He will be in the lineup for the 1st two games of the year as Connolly is suspended.

After that it's anyone's guess. He could get squeezed out in a numbers game or he could stick if he looks really good in the pre-season and during his 2 game audition.

My guess is that he's up and down between Buffalo and Rochester all season and that he ends up with 30 to 40 NHL games this year.

Haven't heard much from him in their preseason games.

I know he played in the 1st preseason and I'm not sure about the 2nd one.

And if he's going to be playing on the 3rd line he can be effective without getting his name called a lot as long as he's solid defensively, winning a lot of draws, and the like.

He could end up starting out as a guy that you need to see the game to pick up how he's playing.
