After Malone seems to be heading to LA, too, probably MJ will reconsider his retirement ;)
But honestly. i don't like this kind of star-collecting, though i understand Payton and Malone for wanting to get a ring. I hope they fail as the blazers did a few years ago when they started to buy a championship. (Dan Snider comes to mind ;) )
But i fear that Jackson is to good of a coach.
GO MAVS!

These 2 are far more important than what Portland did IMO. If LA fails(i hope also), it is a major disappointment. But they have good rooks in Walton and Cook

if they had "bought" these 2 guys 5 years ago, id understand the washington comparison. the lakers didnt have any money for anyone and these guys took pennies on the dollar to play for them. portland bought a bunch of younger punks and brought them all together paying them ridiculous money. if junior seau and hugh douglas had said hey buffalo we want to come there for the veterans minimum we feel like were the missing links and we want a ring youd be singin a different tune.

Seau is unwanted here, and neither would take the minimum to be here, so that comparison stinks like the throwback(the play, not you, though I wouldn't doubt). lol

its a good comparison hurls, you could substitute names if youd feel better. i know neither would take the minimum to play in buffalo, but the point is if they offered it would be a dream come true to a lot of these people on the board. Say Jerry Rice and douglas offered to come for the minimum youd love it,as would everyone else, thats my point. No reason to criticise the lakers for saying yes to these guys, its not like they threw the world at em to woo em over. if you want to be critical be critical of the 2 players, not the team. Im not saying u were critical of them, but i have heard a lot of screw them this and screw them that, you being a yankee fan should understand this more than anyone here. Why does everyone hate the good teams? Because their teams arent them. Plain and simple.

You're right , i never denegrated the Lakers for what they did. I do understand as a Yankee fan. As you said, hate the players, which i do. I look at it as players who couldn't win, so at the end of their careers they latch on to a winner. Kariya and selanne I view differently, because who knows what the next CBA means. Believe me, I hated Clemens, respected him, but hated. And when he came to NY to win, I was unhappy, but I guess I got over it. So in a nutshell, i don't know what the hell I think, and who cares? Nets over Mavs still
