View Full Version : Vinny Prospal only guy left for the Sabres.

If I was Regier, I'd sign Prospal as fast as I could. I wouldn't overpay for him, but he is a smart player and an excellent passer. He would be good setting up Satan and Kotalik. Theres always trades, but who do you get? Jason Arnott pops in my mind. Sure, he makes 3.8 mil, but he goes to the net hard, is pretty sound defensively, something Gratton never did, and has a booming shot and can play the point on the power play. He has size, and is good on faceoffs. I just don't think Dallas wants to move him after losing Hatcher anyways, and probably trading Barnes or Lemeiuex.

I'd pursue #88 before Prospal.

Jay McKee for Lindros? A healthy McKee of a couple of years ago is exactly what the Rangers need, and if the Rangers pay a significant part of Lindros' contract, who knows?

OK well the center position is taken care of... I don't see us persuing Prospal.

His base is somewher e around $3M, but his easily reached incentives bump it past $7M, possibly over $8M.

Lindros - stop smoking the wacky weed. Golisano is a businessman - I don't see him wanted to drop that kind of change of Concussion Waiting to Happen. Focus grasshopper....

And good businessmen buy low and sell high. You'd be buying Lindros low and taking a calculated risk to get something high for him.
