Thats probably just another compensation deal, like they did with Leetch. He'll probably latch on to someone for 1 more try

Its short term, actually a very smart move since they would get some sort of compensation instead of just watching their "Messiah" walk. If he plays next season, I'd say it's back with the Rangers once the FA dust settles.
