Ramirez will be a stud, I know it.

But...

If we could get Schill, I'd do it in a second.

This was in the Arizona Republic:

Short hops

Published and broadcast reports indicated that Atlanta is interested in Schilling. Although the Braves had two scouts at Tuesday's game, a team can't make a deal involving a player on the disabled list unless it's cleared by the commissioner's office. Schilling isn't expected to return until after the All-Star break, which would give him three starts before the July 31 trading deadline.

I cannot see this ever being done. Schillings pay for next year is set at 14 million, no way the Braves are going to cough up that kind of money, especially when I think Millwood will be back and signed to a long term deal, since Maddux will be gone.

I like Shill and all, but he is WAY too old, and SOMETHING has to be done to re-sign Sheff in the offseason too. I would rather have Sheff, Millwood and Estrada than Lopez and Shilling.

GO BILLS---

I COULD see something like a Maddux for Shilling though, since everyone knows that Maddux wants to finish his career in Arizona, since he lives there anyway.
Either way, since his contract is up next year, I think he will go to Arizona anyway, and with all 3 of them, I cannot see Arizona being able to afford Maddux, Shilling AND Johnson.

That would be scary though!

If the D'backs trade Shilling their starting rotation is seriously hurt, and trading Byong Yung Kim doesn't help either.

i think arizonas just looking to clear salary and start over, they got one title with this group and they realize they're just getting older and older and arent gonna get another one. Instead of having an expensive decent team for a few more years they want to develop there young guys see what they have go cheap for a year or 2 and then add a few people where they really need it. I think its a decent strategy.

I read somewhere, that if/when Schilling is traded he wants to go to Toronto. I guess he called a Toronto coach and said he was intrested in becoming a Blue Jay. I really can't see the Blue Jays taking on that kind of salary, but it would give them one heck of a starting rotation.

Actually, he said he would like to go back to Philly to end his career. That HAS been in the News here. Never heard the Toronto thing.
