Everyone has to have an opinion here.

:hmm:

Baseball makes for great cinema!

The poll just has some possibilites, post anything I missed

(probably a lot)

I voted for Soul of the Game. It's a little less known, but HBO did a great job talking about Jackie Robinson, Josh Gibson, and Satchel Page in this film. It chronicles the three Negro League stars, as well as the push by Branch Rickie to get a black ball player signed to MLB. Delroy Lindo stole the show as Page, although Mikelleti Williamson was also great as Josh Gibson.

i picked 61*, but The Natural is up there. Major League still makes me laugh ("Up yours, Jabu"). bad news bears funny too. I never saw Sandlot or soul of the game. Have to check them out sometime. Do Not Watch Summer Catch w/ Freddy Prinze

How about Cobb? I really liked that one. Tommy Lee Jones plays Ty Cobb.

Damn i missed that too, would like to see that one. I liken cobb to Clemens. Tough hard-nosed old school players not too liked by fellow players

I picked the Natural. That movie is good. Plus how can you not like the fact that it took place at War memorial.

Oops!

I forgot to have "A League of Their Own" in the poll.

It was a great movie, it starred Tom Hanks and Geena Davis.

Has anyone seen it?

I picked Major League but I really like them all a lot

BTW, you also forgot Little Big League, Rookie of the Year, Ed, and The Rookie.

I really liked those 4, though I could see how others wouldn't.

Exactly - a great movie, with a great cast, filmed at the Rockpile. What could be better?

My favorite line: Robert Redford lying in the hospital bed to Glenn Close, trying to explain why he wants to play in the game for the pennant:

"God I love baseball"

I picked Field of Dreams, but this was SUCH a hard choice!

Loved The Natural, Major League is classic (still makes me laugh too).

"A League of Their Own" surprised me, it was a damn good baseball movie. I NEVER would have thought that either, Tom Hanks is such a great actor.

I also loved the X-files episode that Ducovney wrote, about the alien playing ball. Great episode!
