Here's a link.
I think the money should be confiscated and given to a children's charity or used to fund an educational program such as DARE.

The government should embrace the drug business.
Sell it, tax it, profit from it. We waste tens of billions of dollars a year to arrest, sentence, & imprison drug offenders.
It's stupid.
The only reason our politicians continue fighting a fruitless war on drugs is because it expands the federal government & employs millions on government salaries.

How do the police know that he bought the ticket with drug money? He could of found $5 on the street or something. Let him keep the money, then he'll stop selling drugs.

Funding something worthwhile with the money would be great. I don't think DARE applies as something worthwhile. How about the local education fund? Give it back to the community so they can have more and better teachers and equipment and so on.

Joey did you see the movie "traffic"? It did a nice job of summing up my opinion. The problem doesn't lie on the supply side of the equation.

America is losing the "War on Drugs" every day. For every 50 kilos of Cocaine the gov't seizes, I'll bet 200 kilo's is sold on the streets. Its a complete waste of money in my book. Let the addicts kill themselves and put the money into something worthwhile. If you can make cigarettes legal (because it the white mans drug), you should make anything legal.

The gov’t doesn’t have to prove he bought the ticket with drug money, the idiot admitted he did (prior to finding out he would lose his money).
His problem is after winning the 5.5 million he kept selling coke. He should lose the money because he’s a dumb ass.

hmm if only the drug problem was a victimless crime as you all seem to think. I would then be all for leagalization. Unfourtunatly innocent people fall victims to junkies everyday as they attempt to pay for their addiction.
Dare is not a waste of time in my opinion but it should be done much differently and on a smaller scale.
