The Blue Jays sweep the Yankees for the first time in a four game series. It looks like we may have a three team race in the AL East this season. With the Yankees and Red Sox playing each other this week, that should help the Jays even more. The only problem I see is the Jays are going home, where they are under .500.

Delgado is the best 1B in the AL right now, in my view. Toronto has a nice roster, but I see them finishing in third in the AL East this year. Too bad, they'd probably have a shot at winning the division if they played in the AL Central instead.
Delgado might hit 50 homers!

Toronto has about as much a shot of finishing higher than 3rd as the Cincinnati Bengals have winning the super bowl...

Delgado is playing unbelievable. I dont think that the Jays will hang with the Yankees and Sox though the whole year. I see them finishing 3rd. Builiding ballclub though, could be great in a year or two.

Yeah, maybe if the Yanks suck like they have the rest of the year I may find some interest in MLB this fall

I give a lot of credit for the Jays play of late to J.P. Ricciardi and manager Carlos Tosca. With moving Escobar to the starting rotation and Davis being brought in it has helped. Now guys like Sturtze can go to the pen which improves the bullpen. Also the defense has improved much since the start of the season. Catalanotto has seemed to figure out the outfield, and Orlando Hudson is all over the place at second base. Anyway, they got Doc Halladay going today, so it looks good for the Jays.

Hey, the brooms are getting more use again, this time with the sweep of the Red Sox. The Jays got 34 runs in three games, and this is without Shannon Stewart and Eric Hinske in the lineup. Within 2 of New York and 1/2 game of Boston.
I am a bit worried about the Jays going with a 4 man rotation. I do not have much faith in Davis, but if the Jays are scoring this much, he don't have to be that good. If something happens to Doc or Lidle, it could be trouble for the Jays.
Next pitching staff to get knocked around: The St. Louis Cardinals

Are you willing to give odds on the Blue Jays not finishing better than 3rd in their division?
