View Full Version : How come the Sabres haven't signed Derick Roy?

This kid is a great player. He is mean and nasty. Not that big at 5-11, but there is always room for growth and he can put more muscle on his frame. He is going to be an important part of the future of the team. Gritty guys who can score like Roy are hard to find but are an important ingredient to a team. Bobby Holik used to be like that in New Jersey, but the Rangers coaching staff made him think he was a scorer. I just hope that Sabres don't imagine him as a 50 goal scorer, cause hes not. He'll get a good 20-25 when he is fully developed though. He is great on the penalty kill too, kind of like a John Madden. June 1st is right around the corner, and if the Sabres don't sign him, he'll go right into the draft again. Just another example of how Darcy Regier can't get things done, and I wouldn't want him building the future team. I don't know why he is so blind to see how important Roy will be to the team.

I bet he will get signed so let's not going hammering Regier until its definite. If it doesn't get done then go ahead and hammer away. It would be a bad move to let this kid go that's for sure.

Yes, it's May 25th.

It's not May 31st at 11:59 pm.

He still has a few days to sign him, and I'm confident he will. There's no reason to bash him until he actually screws up. Once he signs him, you will see that he's not blind to how good the kid can play. Wait until June 2nd to post something like this, and only if Roy gets put back into the draft, which he won't.

He'll be signed within the next 72 hours.

At least there's no paperwork excuse this time - I think things will be much better with a cash in owner backing the team.
