View Full Version : I liked the Old Playoff format

When we had the top 4 from the division go on and the divisions were called Norris, Smythe, etc.. it gave more meaning to rivalries. You could always count on the Sabres to play the Habs or Bruins every year and the rivalry was intensified. I hate this basketball type of format we have right now

I agree with that along with the old division game loaded regular season scheduling.

I'd much rather have a bunch of games against teams we love to hate than see Colorado and Nashville once a year.

Agree. Can you imagine 8 games against the Queefs every year? Besides being extremely entertaining, that's like being guaranteed a spot in the playoffs every year.

every first and second round of the playoffs would be against arch-rivals.

FYI: Divisonal games are six beginning this season.

As for the old format, it's impossible now: 24 out of 30?!?!?
