So who do you guys think was the team that helped themselves out the most in the draft after the first day? javascript:smilie(':dunno:')
dunno
I really like what the Detroit Lions did. Using the second round pick on Charlie Rogers was nice. I think that he was probably the best prospect out there, regardless of position and he is going to make Joey Harrington a bigger force. Getting Boss Bailey in the second round was such a nice play. They are trying to get faster and they really needed a linebacker. Then finally, getting Redding out of Texas in the third was a nice value pick. This team could be a pretty good one in a year or two.

I too like what the lions did i also like what the bengals did. But i like what the raiders did the most. Filled some wholes and we got Justin Fargas in the 3rd. Thats a great pick.

Baltimore had a fantastic draft. They added Suggs to an already devastating defense and still got the QB they needed in Boller. Billick is a happy man today....

I dont like what the Ravens did. Not bad picks. But giving up a first next year. To NE especially.

The Ravens took the best talent available at 10 (Suggs) and still got a good QB that can help them this year. I liked their first round this year. Who knows what they will trade for during the next 365 days to get back into the first round next year.... ask TD about that (Price ring a bell).

i'll go with detroit too. rogers will probably be rookie of the year. bailey, well i don't really like him, but he's definitely worth being picked that late. redding was a second round talent. i think they picked the best available player at their slots effectively

It will be interesting to see how Rogers pans out for Detroit. I understand Rogers' agent is one of the more difficult and contentious agents in sports. Rogers will have to be in camp to do Harrington any good.

I like what the Arizona Cardinals did. Identifying and getting two second round talents in the first round after trading a pick that they could have used on a playmaker was brillant. This team obviously feels very high on the draft prospects for next year.........or it just feels high.

I think Cincy had a great draft so far. I can't believe I just said that.

It's a tough draft to evaluate. If, as many media pundits say is true, there was a paucity of first round talent available then maybe the smartest move is not to take a high pick.
At the end of the first day, I like what Tom did. He showed balls of steel, and got the best value out there at one and two. I'm a little surprised about the third round, and I thought there were a number of good players available we passed on. I just didn't think we needed another fourth rounder.
Best draft so far: Patriots...and only for one reason. They accumulated wealth for next year without sacrificing this year. Belicheck manipulated the trades to his ultimate benefit. Now we'll see if his ability to evaluate talent equals his trading skill.

NE still has seven picks on day 2 to continue wheeling and dealing for this year and next.
I was surprised to see Cincinnati go all offense on day 1.

cincy did have a good draft, but I did not want to say it because it kind of like chicklen little screaming that the sky is falling.
