View Full Version : Booker T screwed

I got this information from Wrestlezone.
Apparently, Booker T was originally scheduled to win the World Title from Triple H at WrestleMania XIX. For whatever reason, plans were changed to have the finish we saw, with HHH going over. One theory is a simple one, in that many are pointing the finger at Triple H for possibly lobbying to get the finish changed due to his creative input. Some point to the debuts and returns of Kevin Nash and Goldberg as another reason. If WWE was banking on Goldberg vs. strong heel champion, Booker T holding the title wouldn't make much sense. Nonetheless, WWE was planning on putting the strap on Booker T, and changed their minds at the last minute.
Pat Patterson was in charge of the booking of the match between Steve Austin and The Rock at WrestleMania XIX. Knowing how bad Austin's neck was going in, WWE was really hoping for Rock to be able to contribute more-so than usual to live up to past Austin-Rock showdowns. Many said Patterson did a good job in laying the match out, as well as Austin and Rock, for executing so perfectly with one severely injured, the other only having been back a few months.
Just shows how much pull HHH has in the wwe. I guess thats what happends when you are goign out with the bosses daughter.

That sux that is what pisses me off about WWE right now they are like WCW was and only certain people can hold the title. They keep holding guys like Booker T, Edge, Jericho, and RVD back by not letting them having chances to hold the belts. Instead guys like Kurt Angle and Triple H are made to look invinsable and its causing the product to be stale.

Well,it will never change and theres one major reason why:
Triple HHH in real life is dating Vinces daughter Stephanie.
So if you kiss @ss and suck up to people, you know hat happens, because its that way everywhere you work.

As Raiders said, the real reason here for The Game keeping the strap was the big play up of the impending Goldberg-HHH title match at June's Badd Blodd, which is replacing King of the Ring. This will be the first RAW only PPV, under the new split PPV system that will debut, presumably, in April with a SMACKDOWN! PPV. For those unaware of this upcoming change, 8 PPV's per year will be brand exclusive, 4 for RAW, 4 for SMACKDOWN! The Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series will be joint shows. HHH is the perfect champ to go in against Goldberg, thier real life fued will be an easy line for the writing staff to draw on, and the match will generate buys and interest from the PPV crowd. Booker T would and will make a great champ, but with the Goldberg signing, Booker was just the odd man out.
And remember, HHH has paid many dues. Those of us familiar with the fallout after the "clique" incident in MSG know that The Game took most of the **** from that, having to be embarrased by a roided-up freak, the Ultimate Warrior, at Wrestlemania XII, when HHH was originally scheduled to have a push on his character around that time. The Game carried the heel ball on his own, mostly, during two of the company's best years. His contributions to angles, storylines, on camera success and the popularity of the sport are things he has achieved, not by diddling Stephanie, but with hard work.

Im not saying Triple H doesnt work hard and hasnt paid his dues. But he has been put into a position where he is made to look dominant over every other wrestler on the RAW roster and thats not good for business. Fans have gotta belive the face can beat the heel and RAW doesnt give you that feeling right now you just know Thriple H is going to come out on top no matter what.

The same with the Rock but they where the good guys the fans wanted them to win. Look at the Rock last year and look at him now last year he was unbeatable now it looks like guys can beat him. If Triple H want to look invinsable then he should make a face turn. You have to give the crowd what they want and if you dont you have to make them feel like they where cheated and that they will get justice in the end.

I heard that they were going to have HHH eventually drop the belt to Goldberg in 2 months. You kind of have to take every rumor that you read on the internet with a grain of salt though, right?

I have to agree with the majority here. HHH plays a lot of politics. and he's dating the owner's daughter! he is one of the main reasons I think the product is stale lately. HHH was a great wrestler, and certainly paid his dues. he had a long title run a few years back, and that was fine. but it's apparent now that politics are making some of the decisions. HHH hasn't been the same though since his major quad injury, it took a toll on his in ring style.

HHH’s backstage politics are sickening. He has prevented a number of serious pushes; i.e.- RVD and Booker T.

i hate to think this is all true, cuz of all the effort HHH puts towards wrestling. he hurt his quad in a match and finished it. then rehabed for months and came back. in the Elimanation Chamber, he got his trachia (sp off?) crushed by RVD and again, still finished the match. the man puts everything he has into this business, so maybe they are giving him a long title run for respect. but no one holds it forever, i just hope its not Goldberg who wins it.

Triple HHH only dropped the title to this buddy shawn micheals. He'll drop it again to Nash and go back and forth. It's pathetic he won't drop it to rvd or booker T who is most deserving of it.

This is exactly why I posted before about how he gets away with alot of this crap, because hes with Vinces daughter Stephanie. Yes,he may have earned some of the stuff he has done, but who the heck does he think he is? Doesnt want to drop it to Booker,RVD,etc.? Just his 2 buddies HBK and Nash? Its like hes going to Vince saying, "I will not drop it to anyone deserving besides HBK and Nash"! And Vince probably says, "No problem!" Get the friggin title off him now and give some other more deserving people a shot at it FCOL! I cant wait for Sting to arrive so he can kick his @ss over and over and over again! :moon:

how is the title even that important anymore? if its decided before hand who is supposed to win it, who cares then. its supposed to represent who is the best wrestler at this point in time. that is why Hulk had it for so long, cuz he was the best. i don't want booker or RVD to have the title either if they are not the best in the business. i don't care what kind of mic work u do, the champion is the best wreslter, and if they don't let them decide who is the best in the ring, then its a worthless title that means $hit

Are you saying RVD and Booker T are not good wrestlers? I think they are as good with thier in ring work as anyone. Anyone who likes RVD likes him because of his in ring work because he is not that great on the mike.

no, i don't think that they aren;t great wrestlers. (thats a double negative isn't it?? they are good, thats what i meant) i just used RVD and booker as examples cuz their name has been mentioned many times on this thread. my statement was a general opinion on how i really don't care who has the title cuz if its a matter of politics that decides who gets to carry it, then i don't care who has it.
