Huge Update On Goldberg/Jericho Fight At RAW
Written by Ryan Clark on 04/09/2003

To follow up on the story we posted yesterday about the confrontation between Bill Goldberg and Chris Jericho backstage at RAW Monday, we have several more pieces of news to add to the story.

From what we have learned, Jericho was apparently upset because of a comment Goldberg made earlier in the evening about Jericho being "small" and not liking to sell for people. The comment made by Goldberg apparently made it back to Jericho at some point during the night and immediately following his match, he walked back through the curtain and went up to Goldberg about it. When Jericho asked him what his problem was and why he was talking so much trash behind his back, Goldberg grabbed Chris by the throat. At this point, Jericho turned around and slapped his hand away while yelling in his face. Jericho then put him in a front facelock and the two wrestled down to the ground. That's where they were than separated by trainers.

WWE.com now has a story up where superstars have been talking about the debut of Goldberg. Of course because it's the company website, they are all pretty good toward his debut. One wrestler came on record as telling us "In less than a week, Goldberg proved what he's all about. He can't work, he can't talk, and he's a backstage disaster." Another said, "Outside of the ring, Bill is a great guy but the second he gets into the locker room and the ring, he becomes a different person. As nice and caring as he is away from the ring, he's the exact opposite inside it." One former WCW and now WWE star said, "I don't think the guy realizes that the business is a work."

Many people are wondering how long Goldberg will be in WWE. He's not getting himself off to a very good start.

Goldberg isn't making a very good impression early. From everything I hear, Jehrico is a class guy, and there's no denying he's a great worker in the ring. Goldberg isn't a great ring worker, and I don't even enjoy his interviews that much. I'm glad Jehrico stuck up to him. Goldberg won't last for too long if he keeps acting that way.

he's just a big guy with too big an ego to match. Big Show also had that problem when he first entered the WWE. these guys become such big names, so they start acting like The Rocks character in real life and it just gets them into trouble.

When i first read this at wrestlezone i figured Jericho to start it because he is a smart ass. Im surprised Goldberg is the one who did, not a good way to start off.

Goldberg is a giant ass, but he is very marketable and will make the WWE boat loads of money. For that reason alone I don't see the WWE getting rid of him anytime soon. If he starts to fizzle and the fans turn on him, then he is as good as gone.

I think Goldberg will fizzle almost as fast as Scott Steiner has since he returned to the WWE. It's too bad Jericho didn't break his face last Monday.

don't know if we're allowed to post it, but 1wrestling.com is a very reliable news source. a lot of the wrestling web sites are equivalent to tabloid magazines, in that they post anything to get the hits, even if it is made up. these guys are pretty straight up, and report fairly.

Jericho made his way up to the top by earning it. Goldberg may have earned in wcw, but things are different in WWE.

Put them in the Octagon, both having actual fighting skill. I bet fox would show that.
