hey, i was just wondering what fans think of the Undertaker now, compared to when he first entered. i still remember the dark music, the no nonsense Taker, the Phenom. he could not say a word, come to the ring and kick a$$. with paul bearer carrying the urn as his "source of power" and when he would just sit up like a robot after being beaten, it was like he was undead.

now, he is the American Badass. Big Evil. He is no longer the Undertaker in my eyes. this new persona is all well and good, but he should change his name. let the Undertaker RIP and stop holding to the popularity of his old character.

Old Taker. Any time he came out for a match you could pick up the eerie vibe.

New taker hands down. Old taker was good when wrestling was cartoon like and everyone had a gimmick but know it would just be silly.

Old Undertaker was cool because I loved the way that he debuted. Showing up at Survivor Series and just beating the hell out of everyone. Putting him with Brother Love was just kind of funny too.

Old Undertaker was something we hadn't seen in wrestling before. I remember kids crying when he would come out back in 91'-93'. He was so menacing, the kind of character no one has been since except for Kane when he originally appeared. The Kand-Undertaker match from Wrestlemania XIV was amazing, especially the Undertaker's entrance.

That being said, I love the new Undertaker as well. The night he first appeared in that garb, back at Judgement Day 2000, he hit the most amazing choke slam on Shanomac I've ever seen. The match with HHH at X7 was also a classic, and his entrances at the last 3 Wrestlemania's on his bike are unforgettable. He's accepted a diminished role these days, but I really think that SMACKDOWN! would benefit from some Deadman Inc. in that main event spot.

Your wrong on one key point here. Undertaker did do some talking, he would have a tape measure and measure the interviewers for a coffin while they talked to Paul Bearer. Anyways Undertaker would read out the numbers.

My favorite was the build up for his return as "Old Taker".

All the stuff happening when Kane was in the ring and stuff, my favorite part of Raw for weeks.

the old taker was much better. better story lines helped and the talent around him made for a much better character.

The old Taker when he first joined was the best. He just didnt cut it as a biker.

Its nice to revisit an old topic. I like Taker overall, save for a few parts of his character which I thought brought him down. I thought he got stale as a good guy back in 1996 and 1997, I really enjoyed his "Ministry" version of his character around WM 14 and 15. His Biker gimmick was a big hit, surprisingly, and his "Last Ride" and team with Kane produced good memories. His "Respect" gimmick when he turned bad around WM 18 was also interesting, and I liked his WWE Undisputed Title run in 2002. His "Biker" gimmick did get old in 2003 when he was an afterthought at WM 19, and so far his return to the "Deadman" gimmick has been average, but that has a lot to do with the undeserving talent he has worked with most of the time on SD! I think.
