I'd really like to see this board have some depth to it, so I'd like to have any posts about your favorite team, possibly your hometown team, for those who don't live in Buffalo, in here. Like how your boys are playing? Who's underachieving? Anyone having a breakout April?
I'll start with a talking point:
Who's rotation looks solid in the early going?
The Yankees look to have the most solid starting five, in my view. The D-Backs are also deep, but I like the Yankee chemestry the best. Anyone else see a strong rotation around? My Braves are certainly suspect.

Oh yea, Yankees most definately have the best rotation and have a lot of depth. I like oaklands rotation, they didn't get off to a great start but they will click soon enough.
I'm a sox fan, a pretty pissed off one too. I don't understand how they can put up runs in every start except pedro's and pedro is unhappy about this also. Can ya blame him? Well down here so far this season we have a few people to look to have killer years. One obviously in Nomar and Manny Ramirez. Also Kevin Millar has looked sharp thus far along with Shea Hillenbrand who continues to impress people when a few months ago he was trade bait.
Our bullpen is in trouble because our GM Theo Epstein wan't to do a bullpen by com. which is a very bad decision and they have already felt the effects with a troubled pen.
Well that's the word from up here, i love baseball and i hope this can be a busy forum. Im high on fantasy baseball too.

I believe the Red Sox can have a strong starting rotation. Of course you have to look at Pedro as the ace, but than you also have the likes of Lowe, Burkett, Wakefield, Fossum, and someone that when healthy can have Number 2 type stuff in Robert Person. Their Bullpen however has a few questions, beyone Mendoza and Timlin and I think the pen can continues to stir up some trouble for them.

Burkett is an ace. I hated to see him leave Atlanta after 01' when he was the Braves best starter, even better than Glavine and Maddux in that season. The pen situation in Boston is a bad one, to be sure. Flash Gordon was a great closer there for a brief time until he was injured in 00', and now with Lowe in the rotation there is no stable force to set up or close. Epstien should have tried to usurp Hoffman from San Diego last offseason, I don't see the Sox' contending with the Yankees this season if they can't count on holding up leads in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Looks like Floyd, Ramirez, Nomar and company will have to be the force this season in Beantown.
And, you are right, Masterpiece, Pedro needs some run support!

Cliffy is in New York (Mets) now, not Boston any longer

Woops, Floyd has fallen from grace so fast since he left Florida that I can't even keep track anymore.
Ah well, his underachieving style fits right in with the Metropolitans.

has anyone seem the KC royals pitching rotation this season there best starting pitcher by far is r. hernendez in 2 starts hes given up 4 hit through 13 innings. it goes somewhat downhill from there especially with losing their ace from last year to the braves but so far there 5-0 and there young closer is 3 for 3 with saves chances adn supposedly they have 2 excellent pitchers in the minors now

Hey, the Blue Jays are playing well, winning their fifth in a row after tonights 10-5 beating of the Bosox. After Toronto got away from the Yankees they went 5-0, for a 5-3 and second place overall record. Vernon Wells is second on the AL in RBIs after tonights grand slam. Tanyon Sturtze who went 4-18 last season with the D-Rays, is off to a 2-0 start after going seven in the win tonight. I thought the bats would hold up for most of the season, but I did not have much faith in the starting rotation this season. If Sturtze and the rest of the rotation can keep it up, the Jays may just stay in the race for the east/wildcard. Tomorrow the Ace of the staff Roy Halladay goes, looking for his first win of the year.

My boys in Atlanta will be without Paul Byrd, a star aquisition from Kansas City this offseason, for the forseeable future. He is having surgury on his right elbow to remove a bone spur. The timeframe for his rehab has not yet been set. With Maddux in shambles, Hampton still hurting and Glavine gone to the Mets, the sun may be setting on my favorite team's run as NL East champs.

He had a setback in his rehab, I'll expect him by May 1, though.
