no way. that draft doesn't look right.

houston will take jordan gross and dallas will take leftwich. so they're saying buffalo is going to go into camp with 7 potential starting DE's? Schobel, Denney, Irons, Jones, Mckenzie, Haynes, AND Brayton? No way in hell.

Like I've said before Buffalo is set at DE with Jones, Schobel, Denney, Irons, and McKenzie. Anybody else they bring in is just camp fodder.

Buffalo will pick CB Weathersby in the first round.

Pro Football Weekly is a bunch of dumbasses. They don't know anything about football or real team needs. I find them to have no credibility.

I like the first choice!

Buffalo isn't set at DE, but it isn't a pressing need.

Why are you so confident the pick will be Weathersby? I'm just curious.

Picking a CB in the first round makes the most sense. There is no guarantee Winfield will re-sign next year. If Buffalo has a quality (cheap) CB to step in for Winfield, then that gives managment more leverage in negotiations. Plus they wouldn't have to waste $$$ on a high priced starting CB in FA next offseason. It's almost the same situation as Peerless Price a year ago.

Another reason is this guy is fast, 4.37 40, and he's 6-1. That's rare size/speed combo for a CB. If you listen to GW or TD talk about the defense, they always mention speed. They want the fastest guys on the field at all times. Weathersby would be a perfect fit, and he's forecasted to go late first round.

Just watch how good the DE's look this year with Adams and Williams occupying 3-4 OL-men. Plus LeBeau's zone blitz scheme's will help. The offenses we face will be worried about Posey and Spikes, freeing up the DE's to make plays.

You cant be sure about our DEs. I mean Jones is coming off a major surgery. Mckenzie hasn't been very good last few years either. But two DEs in first 2 rounds is just ridiculous.

if guys like CB wilson and FSs holt and hamlin are there in round 2, it would be insane to pass them up to pick ANOTHER DE.

If you base ones knowledge on the mock they put out, everybody would look stupid. This one is the most realistic that ive seen. Two DEs in is a little overboard.

Derrick Burroughs had a great size/speed ratio, too (so did Bucky Brooks!). That didn't make them great (good or even decent) players. Don't get caught up in Weathersby's athletic ability. He isn't a first round player on production.

Guaranteed Dallas will not take Leftwich. Parcells hates developing QBs. the Terence Newman pick is dead-on: lock-down corners are a staple of the Parcells defense. I'd say if Chicago doesn't take Leftwich, Arizona definitely will - you think they're planning on surviving with Jeff Blake after this year? no way.

I agree with the DE in the first round, but not Haynes. with Dewayne White on the board (according to ESPN) there's no way they wouldn't take him.

CB in the first? are you kidding? that doesn't make as much sense as you think. you can't tell me that Schobel and the two guys they signed...I don't know their names, and I don't care - neither is the answer. if they don't take a DE in the first I'll be shocked.

SHOCKED I SAY!! :)

wait I missed something - Irons will be cut, along with IMO Denney or McKenzie. no need to worry about going into camp with 7 DE's, cause they won't take one in the second anyway. that could be the CB pick, but IMO the DT from Wash St., Rien Long, would be taken at that spot by the Bills.

Derrick Burroughs was a pretty good CB IMO. It's not his fault he had a congenital condition that cut short his career.

what a bizarre draft. Chris Kelsay going that high? There are a bunch of crazies in their thinking.

I liked Burroughs, also.

IMO---D-line first, CB second.

I have seen so many better mocks than this one. Like I said this is from PFW, who is just stupid. I consider them to have no credibility or knowledge of whats happening in the nfl for the following reasons.

1) They posted on their site that Rosevelt Colvin signed with Lions. This was a week and a half before he signed with the pats.

2) They said that Sam Adams was set to sign the contract offered by TD. This was before he rejected it the first time, so I'm wondering where in the hell did the get their info.

3) I also remember them saying that Boston was set to be close to sign with the Cardinals, same with Plummer, and nothing really happend between them. Boston had no intention of signing, and Plummer didn't even court the contract that was offered.

PWF is the dumbest sports news agency I know of. This draft follows this reputation.

Kelsey before McDougle and Haynes? Um...no

Walter Hunter in the first round? Um....no

Mathis before Doss, Palamula and Hamlin? Um....NO

Bryant Jonhons before Wahington and Jacobs? Um...also no

And lastly, Sullivan will not fall that low, and I think he will be picked before Joseph. All of the above are my opinion, and I am guesing as everyone is, but I'm sorry, those picks seem very ridiculous to me. Just another PFW blunder.

Weathersby is a cancer, according to reports. He's a me first player who has questionable work ethic.

"Parcells hates developing QBs"

DB?

With New England he was in it for the long haul. I don't think he will be in Dallas for much longer then 3 or 4 years. So drafting a QB in the 1st round woulden't make to much sense. It usually takes them about 3 years to become fully adjusted to the NFL game. And by then Parcells could very well be gone. I really thought they would have picked up Jake Plummer. Brian Griese is still out there thought.

Note that this is a mock draft, not a list of ratings. The latest PFW issue in print has McDougle rated #12, Kelsay #17 and Haynes #18. Washington was #34, Jacobs #36 and Bryant Johnson #41. Rasheen Mathis was at #65. That seems to be more reasonable. The only suprise that seems to stand out is how low they rate Jacobs. In most other sources he's rated higher than that.

Usually they do a good job with the draft, but that was mostly Joel Buschbaum's work. Sadly, he passed away a few months ago.
