Just read an article yesterday in the Syracuse Post Standard saying that Central New York Time Warner cable is dropping Empire Sports from its programming line-up. They are replacing it with some junk outdoor nature sports channel. Im sure this will be upsetting a LOT of people, myself included. Time Warner Cable here in CNY blows. No more sabres games, no more fan tv, nothing.

That sucks - as much as I hate to admit it, there's too many bandwagon anti-Bills people in my hometown of CNY.

Get DirecTV. You will get Empire on there and its a hell of alot better than cable and its not any more expensive.

I agree on DirecTV--I live in Westchester County, but it allows me to not only get Empire Sports (although they block out the Sabres games, since it competes with their NHL Ticket package) and all of my Bills news for a few extra dollars a month, but it also allows me, through NFL Sunday Ticket, to get all of the NFL games, including all Bills games, right in my living room. Plus the fact that it gets about a zillion more channels than cable generally.

I've been thinking about getting Direct TV, it's actually cheaper than cable. Now this might give me the motivation to get up off my arse and dump cable. Paying too much for too little. Empire Sports Network is one of the few I actually watch. Really bad move by Time Warner.

Get it. Directv is better than cable especially now that you can get local channels as well. Suprising that they would drop Empire given the amount of coverage that Empire gives to SU that should piss people in Syracuse off.

Direct TV will kick cables butt on its worse day. Cable don't offer all NFL games like cable.

I am in consensus with the DirectTV. I have cable for the regulars stuff, but I got directTV last year just for the NFL Ticket. It was great. I got to see all the Bills games. First time ever. If you're going to get anything this year, get DirecTV with the Ticket, and its reasonably priced.

I live in northern michigan and had Direct TV and the football package since the first year they offered it.It is the only way to go. I see every Bills game otherwise I may only get to see 1 or 2 a year.:squishfis

Another good thing about Directv is with the sports pack you can also see hype for upcomming games for most of the opposing teams markets. Gives you another viewpoint.

I agree with you guys about Directv. I get everything you get and I live in Las Vegas.

Empire Sports is affilated with Adelphia. Cable companies like to stick it to each other. They don't seem to care that much for the consumer.

I have Directv here in Maryland. Get it. I'm an Empire addict. My wife laughs at me for watching "radio" on TV all the time (referring to the WNSA simulcasts and hockey hotline). I also get the NFL & NHL packages.

No doubt they want you to subscribe to the premier "digital cable" service and pay out for NHL CenterIce.

This works againts Golisano's Regionalism plans.

I used to live in Atlanta and DirecTV was awesome. Now I live in Philadelphia and have Comcast Cable. I still get the Center Ice package, but they do not offer the NFL Sunday Ticket. Also, cable costs a lot more. As soon as the hockey season is over, I'll be pricing out a new DirecTV system!

^^^BTW, Empire is included in the Fox regional sports package. It was $10 per month a couple years ago. I doubt the price has gone up since then. The Sabres games will be blacked out if you don't subscribe to the Center Ice package, though.

I Moved from Rochester to Shreveport and got the Direct tv package a couple of years ago. it is awsome and local channewls will be included here soon cant wait . the quality of the piture and sound on cable doesnt even come close to DTV. also the sports pack is $12 that is for all the regional sports channels. i have gotten the NFL ticket 2yrs now and every yr it seems to get a little cheaper, i also have the NHL ticket, it's the best deal going. especially that i can still watch HNIC on saturday. and watch all the playoff games up to but not including the Confrence games. one other nice feature is if i want hbo for a month i can just call and they turn it on instantly at no extra charge then have them turn it off and no extra charge.:peace: :peace: :jetssuck:
