With or without the signing of Sam Adams Buffalo has to take a DE with one of their top two picks because Marcus Jones if he returns to form and gets about 8 sacks is in the last year of his contract and will demand some big dollars. Schoebel is best suited for 3rd down pass rushing and the same goes with McKenzie. Unless Ryan Denney really steps it up look for them to use 23 or 48 on a DE

8 sacks will not get you big dollars.

Vonnie Hollday is looking for big bucks and he had 6. 5 of which came against the bills so yeah i think 8 would get u big dollars

no, but holiday has been a consistant, though average performer for several years.

jones has been hurt and cut for several years

but he will want a raise for sure if he plays well and gets 8 sacks..

10 is the number that people feel they should really get paid.

I thought Jones contract was for more then 1 season on the condition that he passes all the physicals and is fully recovered by TC.

Even if Denney steps it up, he is not a pass-rushing threat.

I actually hope he becomes a good run-stuffing DE, that way we can get an inside pass rusher to plug next to him and Big Pat and hopefully a stud RDE (w/ Schobel as a situational rusher to give Denney and breather.....)

DeWayne Roberston interestingly has been compared to big pat Williams and I think he'd be the best fit for our defense in this years draft. Unfortunately, we'd need to get into the top 15 to have a chance at him.

The next best is pass-rusher is Rien Long, but he doesn't hold up well vs teh run. Kenny Peterson comes after him, and is solid in both aspects and the most polished of the 3.

William Joseph has a great rush, but is one-dimensional IMO. Miami's run-d was horid.

The only stud DE this year is Terrell Suggs. We really can't afford to go after KGB b/c apparently he wasnts lots of $$$ and will cost a 1st rounder. DeWayne White is an excellent pass-rusher, so is Alonzo Jackson, both are a bit raw though and Jackson needs more bulk to be an every down player.

In a perfect scenario, we could trade up in the first, while keeping our 2nd rounder and draft the duo of Dewaynes (Robertson and White). Otherwise Kenny Peterson and Dewayne White might be the next bext route.

Ty Warren is starting to show up as the Bills pick in some mocks. Bills fan and professional scout for another team, Ingtar says Ty Warren has a rare second gear that makes him potentially a rare breed of player. Unfortunately he was a classic underachiever for virtually all of his college career, then really turned it on in the college all star games. I think he might be a worthwhile risk given my opinion that Tim Krumrie might be the kind of position coach that can really bring out a player's ability.

Yeah, he is an underachiever and his work ethic, desire, and intensity are questionable... but Krumrie could fix that.

Edwards has the same probem though, and we are trying to replace him! He can be dominant at times when he is pumped up (e.g. he plays better at home than on the road.... also played tough vs. Miami our big rival). So I don't know if TD will risk it.

How about Antonio Garay? What round is he projected?
I know the guy has a history of countless injuries but I read he's a great player and a leader.

Would you take a chance with him?

I think everyone would agree DE is the biggest need. However, aren't we in pretty good cap shape next year also? In which case TD will have the luxury of taking the best player on the board. He has not been predictable yet in his selections.

You are dreaming if you think D. Roberson would last unitil the bills pick at #23. McDougle might still be there.
