I am from MIchigan, but I am a bills fan, anyway, I was looking at a lions sight and the reporter said that Maghee would be a good pickup for the lions with there 2nd pick in round 2. I though t that was crazy, I mean he is worth that much of a risk is he? Do you think Bills should pick him up if he is there in the 3rd round???

im also from MI and lot of people like him. Including the staff so The lions could make another one of there mistakes and waste a 2nd round pick when they could wait till the 3rd

I don't think the risk is too terribly high on McGahee. From all appearances his rehab is going well. The main risk is probably that he won't be as effective in 2003 as one might hope. I think eventually he'll be 100%. Because he might not be effective this coming season, I probably wouldn't use a high round 2 pick on him (like the Lions have) but I doubt he'll last until the Bills pick in round 3. It's conceivable he could be there for the Lions in round 3, but I think it most likely he goes late in round 2.

it is simply a "gamble on greatness" type of pick. A team with sufficient depth will take the flyer on him early (late 1st round,in my opinion) and allow him to set his own pace in rehabilitation. Ourlads guide to the NFL draft still rated him the #2 player overall AFTER his injury. That isn't faint praise folks!!!

Reminds me of another running back - # 34 Thurman Thomas, going to the Bills in the 2nd round. Not sure running back is high enough of the wish list to use a #2 though.

I just don't know. The injury he suffered in the championship games makes him a big risk. However, he has the protentional to be really great.

Detroit needs to make a good gamble for once, and this guy could be a superstar. IF they take rogers in the first they will have a nice triumverate with them and Harrington in a couple years.

Jim53.....was Thurman a surprise to us all when we drafted him? RB wasn't high on our wish list that year either.
