Joe Sakic returned to the Avalanche's roster yesterday as the Av's beat the Oilers 4-2. But that's not what this post is about.
What this post is really about is the teams in the west and there chances of making the Stanley Cup. And with a already hot Av's team now you add in Sakic, they have got to be the favorite coming out of the west.

True the Canucks are hot now. But they won't be in the Stanley Cup. They don't have that championship mentality like the Av's, Wings, and Stars. They still need another year or two before they become Stanley Cup threats.

could be. But I still have to say another year or two. But last year was a huge step for them and they have improved on it this year so anything is possible.

I hate to inflate the western conference egos any more, but I think the Avs are going to be the best in the west. This is their last run and I think deep down they know it. They'll make the best of it and bring the cup home one more time.

The Avs have closed the gap to 4 points with the Canucks in the Northeast. It will be a good fight down the streach for 1st.
