My point to this thread is to say that we should have a chance to land a very good player with our pick in round 2. Who on this list do you think we could get and who do you think will be gone?

Rein Long is the guy that I want here....but I highly doubt he will make it down to us. How about Teyo Johnson at TE with our second rounder? Any thoughts?

I would take either Rien Long or Kevin Williams. If Chris Brownn dropped to us in the 3rd I would love to have him to.

oh I forgot that Ken Hamlin was also not chosen in the 1st round mock either.

I would take a look at Teyo also but only if an equal value DL or LB were not available...I would be happy with any one who would contribute significantly THIS year regardless of position. We need another great draft along with good FA pick ups to get to the next level.

Only teams that have no idea what they are doing take a tight end with their first pick. Before anyone screams Shockey-wake up and smell the coffee. As good as Shockey is, don't you think the Giants could have used help elsewhere? No tight end is worth a first round pick-EVER! In our case even the 2nd round. I would grab either Chris Brown because he is going to be special or Williams, Peterson, or White-none of these defensive players will make it to us, but if they do!............They won't get past us!

Dewayne White would be the way to go here, although I seriously doubt he'll be available in the second round, much less the middle of the round where our draft position is. But if by some miracle he slips to us (or Donahoe were to make a move up), it would be a very good day for Bills fans.
He's an explosive DE from Louisville...has the rare combo. of size+speed+explosiveness. I watched several Louisville games last year (was too busy this year) mostly to watch him, Ragone, and, Branch, and his play was devastating. he was on everyones "A" list that year..I think he had some nagging injuries this year which may have dropped his status a bit.....whatever, he's worth the risk. (top character guy as well)

Kevon Williams! :?:
Kenny Peterson!
Those guys would be awesome in teh 2nd.....
If we lose Price, I'd like Brandon Lloyd.

I'd love to get Kevin Williams. Not very many mocks have him dropping out of the first round. Does Ty Warren go in round one ahead of these guys who dropped, or did you just not include him because you don't think he's good enough? Is the SI mock in a premium (pay only) section of their website? I'd like to see it, but I don't want to pay.

Teyo Johnson was a WR at Stanford, BDuff, but a lot of people project him as a TE in the pros because he's a little slow for a WR. Scouts see him as a very athletic receiving TE in the mold of a Tony Gonzalez. He wants to stay a WR, which would make things interesting for a team drafting him with the idea of making him a TE. Depending on his attitude, that could be asking for trouble.

Shockey was definitely worth the first round pick. Not only did he make the Pro Bowl in his rookie year and drive D-coordinators crazy trying to guard him with LBs, but he tranformed that attitude of a pretty downtrodden team. He is as responsible for the Giants' run to the playoffs as anyone else. I think that warrants a first round pick, don't you?

its hard to draft a DT in 2nd or 3rd round that gonig to make an impact. i got to say let price go and draft a WR. then sign a LB and DT in Free Agency. also 3rd round go TE to replace Jay. ThAT WAY WE KEEP OUR YOUNG OFFENSE GROWING. wow sorry about caps.

Scott, Battle, Wilson on D should be there, I dont even think Wilkenson will be a 2nd rounder probally early day 2. Johnson and some of the o-lineman will be there. Kevin Williams ad Rein long might be gone by the time the pats pick inthe first never mind the2nd.

Most mock drafts I've seen have Kevin Williams as a mid-first. If he makes it to the 2nd, I don't think he makes it to15. TD should be working the phones to move up.

TD's already doing that (working to move up) by tagging Price in my mind.

Now that we have a first-round pick, who does SI list as being available?

Shockey was worth a first pick. I don't particularly like him but he is a playmaker and a difference maker. The Giant offense was much more explosive with him. When you make a #1 pick you want someone who can come in and help your team. Shockey helped the Giants on the field and off by raising interest.

I think that we must get the best available Dlineman in first and get a young receiver in second. We have had some luck in past doing this. I think this will help our offense more than getting a second hand FA wideout.

Peterson or Wilkerson would be good additions here. (If D-tackle is addressed via free agency). I also think on a team that needs a vertical threat from the tight end, Dallas Clark of Iowa would be a solid third round choice if he is still available at that time.
