:gbounce:
I would like to get people's ideas on two related topics.
WHAT POSITIONS WILL THE BILLS DRAFT IN ROUND 2, 3, 4, AND 5?
I think round 2 will be an aggressive, wide-body, plug the middle and collapse the pocket defensive tackle, who should be legimately more than 300# and at least 6-2.
Round 3 will be an outside linebacker
Round 4 and 5 will be defensive backs
WHO WILL THE BILLS DRAFT IN THE SECOND ROUND
This somewhat depends upon the mysteries of other team's reasoning and needs. I see three possibilities, which would slip down to the #48th pick.
Ian Scott Florida 6-2 308#
Dewayne Robertson Kentucky 6-2 315#
Johnathan Sullivan Georgia 6-4 310#
Do you want to start a prediction contest?
I would pick Sullivan.

Lamarcus McDonald
Terrence Holt
Michael Boulware
Jarret Johnson
Kindal Moorhead
Cory Redding
I would like to see McDonald or Redding

Wow, though questions since we don't know what direction TD and Co. will go in FA. But as of now I'd say:
2nd round: DT
Who: maybe Eric Manning (UT pos. next to Pat) or Ty Warren (kind of an underachiever like Edwards)

Could be Brandon Lloyd.

I think Robertson and Sullivan will be gone. Boulware did not enter the draft. He'll be moving to safety next year for Florida St. I'm a little wary of Ian Scott because he has asthma. I'm very wary of McDonald because he's slow and undersized. I think Redding will probably be gone. Kindal Moorhead is a modest reach. Jarrett Johnson is a possibility. Eric Manning is a reach. Ty Warren is a possibility. He was an underachiever throughout his college career, but really stepped it up in the latter part of his senior year, and in the bowl season where he was one of the top DTs. He could be gone, but he might be around. It's impossible to predict. Unless TD hits the motherload as far as signing good value FAs at need positions on defence, I don't see the Bills taking a WR (Brandon Lloyd). If Buffalo gets really lucky, Kevin Williams might drop, though I don't expect it. Another possibility is Ken Hamlin.
think Buffalo will stay with defence in R3, but after that I think they will take the proverbial "best player" from among any of several positions including on offence. I could see them taking a WR, TE, C/G, CB, S, DE, a LB (even a second LB).

If Holt isstill available I would hope we pick him up. If not I would then go with the best D lineman available and then in the 3rd draft a FS.

From all the rumors it looks like TD will concentrate on LBs in FA, so 2nd rounder looks like a DT. I'm going on a limb and calling for a WR/KR in the 3rd, provided PP is traded.

If we get Atlanta's pick, watch for us to try and take Kenny Peterson.

It's not a lock, but I think there's a good chance Peterson will be around at #23.

Ty Warren in the second. Cory Redding in the first if we get Atlanta's 23rd pick int he first round.

On second thought, I'll go with Kenny Peterson DE from Ohio State as TD's pick in the second round.

If we Trade Price for a 1st Rounder, than I look for a DT there and than somebody like Terrance Holt in the 2nd Round..

I have a sneaking feeling that James Lee is going to continue rising up the charts. He might not be considered much of a reach in the middle of the second round by the end of April. Why hasn't anyone heard of him? I think he was a transfer. He was Eric Manning's teammate. Manning was already established and Lee didn't get that many snaps. He made things happen. He's bigger and faster than Manning and showed surprising movement in the combine drills. If all the top name DTs go before Buffalo gets a crack at picking one, a sleeper like Lee might be just what we need.

I've said this elsewheres, so just to repeat: TD likes productive, multiyear starters from major schools. He doesn't go for workout warriors- never in his past.
In the second round, they'll be hoping for Taylor Brayton a 6-6" DE/DT from Colorado, unless Ty Warren is still around. Outside shot of Kenny Hamlin. All three big school production guys.
First round...boy I'd like to see 'em take EJ Henderson, but TD only takes players that have fully recovered from injury on the field. That makes him a bit of a push. So I'd say Ross is the guy- multiple year All American. Alternate consideration to Kenny Peterson.

I was trying to tell people about this guy a while ago and a lot of people shot me down caling him a Ryan Denney Clone. While this may not mean much but he seemed to have a heck of a good combine workout. Go Bills!

Spoon was injury-prone and TD took him. Of course, that was the 5th round.
I still say he locks up Kenny Peterson if we get a first rounder.

I don't like Peterson from Ohio State, since he put on a lot of weight (perhaps not fat, but pumped himself up) after the season and a lot of his late reputation may come from the success of the _uckeye team. (I spent some time at Mischegin). We don't need Henderson from Maryland as we now have depth at MLB with Spoon and okay dept at SLB. I see a FA for WLB and 2 defensive linemen in the 1st two rounds of the draft (If Price is traded).

Peterson is a stud, he is no product of the team. I would take him in a heartbeat he has a great motor.

Did you go to school at "Mischegin" or just work at a coffee shop?

I have a question and this thread seemed like a good place to ask it.
Last year TD picked Josh Reed in the second round...which was surprising...but since Price is now gone makes alot more sense.
Since next year is the contract year for Antoine Winfield do you think that the first or second round picks will be used for a CB in case we can't afford to bring back Winfield?
Clements is a stud and Kevin Thomas started to show some things at the end of last season...but I can't see Clements and Thomas as the top 2 CB.
Do you think TD will think ahead to that position?

I think we'll see TD pick a cornerback in the draft for not only that reason but also to help out this year in the dime package as well as on special teams. I doubt he'll use the first round pick on one but maybe in the middle or late rounds.
As for the first round pick, if Kenny Peterson is still on the board by the time the Bills are on the clock look for him to clean clocks in a Bills uni next year.

Agreed! Cornerback in the middle rounds regardless of whether TD thinks he can get Winfield signed.
