The Avalanch just beat the so called hottest team in the NHL New Jersey Devils 2-1. Tanguary got the first goal and returning defensemen Derek Morris scored the other. Forseberg continues his great play by getting assists on both the goals. This win makes us undefeated in our last 10 and extends our winning streak to 6. the rest of the NHL better take notice the Avs are back!

The Wings are still the team to beat followed by the Avs and Stars. Canucks are a close 4th, although I don't think they can win the cup this year they can pull off an upset on one of those three. I think the Hawks if they make the playoffs with a hot Thibault can pull off a first-round shocker.

The Wings need to get healthy and start winning on a more constant level before they are the team to beat.

The Wings no longer have reliable goaltending, unless you actually think CuJo won't choke this year in the playoffs. The Avs are back, and my all time favorite player, Patrick Roy, will be out to avenge his terrible end to last season in game 7 of the West Finals. Watching the Blues last night at the arena I was impressed with a lot of their talent, but Johnson is not good enough in net to carry them past the Avs, Stars, Wild, or Canucks, in my view.

The one thing that will be interesting to watch will be how Turco plays in the playoffs, he has been the Stars Superman but will the playoffs prove to be his kryptonight. Only time will tell.

i have to agree with Player and D roc

The wings are the team to beat but they do have to get healthy. I think they can and will win another cup.

Anyone who thinks CuJo, especially after his work this season, is good enough to win a cup, is nuts. With guys like Turco, Broduer, Belfour and Roy out there, the Wings are not "the team to beat".

"the game" has it right. Cujo has proven over and over again that he can't win a championship. Now he is on the down slope of his career and has run out of time.

I think the Avs and Devs are the teams to beat. Championship goalies and championship attitudes. Ottawa is a contender, but I think they still lack enough toughness to go all the way.
