With all the technology out there and the amount of video tape that is available to the coaches on a daily basis you would think somebody on that pitiful staff of ours would make Pyatt change sticks. The guy gets at least two good chances per game from within two or three feet of the net but he can't get the puck over the pads. The goalies and equipment are so big these days that you can't beat them low in close. A simple change to a wedge curve would allow Pyatt to roof the puck from close in. He's not a perimeter shooter or a playmaker so there is no reason for him to use a standard blade. Kotalik may be wise to also alter his curve as he is trying to live on that foot above the ice slapshot. I think that Jim Lorentz pointed out that goalies have caught on to that and are playing his one-timer to always be low.
