First begun in 1980, this year's Buffalo Sabres “Old Time Carnival; New Fun and Games” will once again be a treat for fans of all ages. Current and former Sabre players will be on hand to participate in games such as Ping-Pong, bubble hockey. Interactive hockey games, clowns, face painters and player question and answer sessions will also highlight this year's fun-filled event. In addition, those in attendance can participate in a silent auction, purchase surprise boxes and buy raffle tickets for autographed jerseys.
This year's carnival features many more carnival games for fans to play along with their favorite Sabres. For those fans that would like to get autographs, two tables will be open, but there will not be published schedules of player availability. Please note autographs will once again be available but only at designated areas and times during the event.
The proceeds from this year's carnival will benefit the Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara and St. Catharines Minor Hockey Association.
For more information, please contact the Buffalo Sabres Account Services at 855-4444, ext. 82.

Billsman.......... Thats the only thing i hate about the Carnival. I went for the first time last year with my b/f. We had a hard time playing games and waiting in terrible long lines let alone running around trying to get our jersey signed. Why can't we just get a quick autograph and have players push us to leave if were too much??? We stand in line for hours just to play a five minute game then we have to wait in another 2 hour line....... note: if we can find the autograph line considering 1 game with a player takes so long. .... just to get an autograph of the same player???
Its really frustrating. I love the Carnival...... but maybe they could put times of autographs on the maps they hand - out?????
I want autographs but i also want to play against the players. Its very hard to do all that all at the same time! :(

Very good suggestions, did you pass this onto the Sabres? If not you should. Webmaster@sabres.com or feedback@Sabres.com

It's not worth it.... We only pay 10 bucks. Same thing happened to me this year. My 4 favorite players had 30 minute autograph sessions and I was told by a Staff memeber...... (20 of us were told)... if you plan on getting these 4 players autographs.... i suggest to forget it. The line is atleast a # hour wait. The carnival is only on for 1hour longer. I am sorry. So i didn't get to meet or get an autograpg by #4,#32,#22, or #44 :(:(:(
I was pissed :(

I met all of the Sabres...
I thought Hecht was the nicest.. I played foosball with him and he was adorable.. he was winning 2-0 then I came back to tie it up.. only to lose 3-2 in the end.. I didn't care though... I took a pic with him and asked him about his ear.. lol.. he looked fine and he's much better looking in person
I took pics with most of the Sabres except Satan since he wasn't there and neither was Mika.
I played playstation with Timmy.. hehe.. I didn't know how to shoot.. lol.. so he showed me the buttons....
I asked the Sabres a question during the Q & A session.. It was scary and intimidating.. lol.. I was on the jumbotron..
Zhitnik had on this silly hat.. lol.. and he played ping pong with Tallinder and those who joined him.. it was fun
It was cool I thought.. and the guys as a whole are a great bunch.. I didn't pester anyone of them for autographs.. that's not my thing.. I'd rather get a picture or have a convo.. than their signature.. but yeah it was great seeing them all again..
I see them from time to time when I'm in Buffalo and at games but it was really cool to play games and stuff with 'em!
I took pics and I hope to post them when I get a scanner.. I already have them developed.. mwahaha!

Have you ever been to Montreal? It's beautiful, the people are friendly, and there is lots to do, and if you throw a rock in any direction, you don't hit a boarded up building.
This is by no means a put down of the city of Buffalo, which has been struggling for as long as I can remember, but you can't compare Buffalo to NY, Montreal, Boston, Toronto, or any other major city. A diplomatic answer by Patrick or Dumont should have been something like "the people of buffalo are great" or "buffalo has great hockey fans" not "I prefer Montreal" i.e. "this city sucks".

I think the question implied was "Aside from Buffalo, where do you prefer to play?"
And I think you can compare Buffalo to Toronto and Montreal FAVORABLY. I have lived in both places. I miss Buffalo (where I have never lived) more than Toronto. And I didn't like Buffalo the first time I visited. Buffalo is a city that grows on you, and it is probably much better to live in than visit.
Culture? Tell me that the culture of Montreal is superior. Excuse me for not appreciating Cirque de Soleil or Celine Dion. Give me Albright-Knox anyday.
Tell me that the architecture of Montreal is superior, and you'll be wrong. Frank Lloyd Wright built in Buffalo, not Montreal. Montreal has old buildings with boring, second-hand architecture. I won't say that Buffalo has great architecture, because it doesn't. But Montreal's is even worse.
In terms of natural wonders, Buffalo has Niagara Falls and a couple of lakes. Montreal has a polluted river.
Both places have ski resorts a short distance away.
Weather? About the same.
Food? Buffalo, easily. Montreal's steakhouses are overrated. Eau de Cheval is a fine restaurant, but the only one I've been to that was excellent. If you have the misfortune of being in Montreal, I recommend it. Actually, the better restaurants are in the outskirts. Meanwhile, Buffalo has its own food, with wings and beef on weck. Casual dining may not require a jacket, but it is still culture - and damn good food. I prefer wings and beef on weck to poutine and maple syrup 24/7. Neither city has great formal dining, but Buffalo has superior casual dining. Toronto, OTOH, does have better formal dining establishments, but it still doesn't compare with NYC.
And despite the high taxes in Buffalo, it's still lower than Montreal.
What advantages does Montreal have? Sports? Both have NHL teams. Buffalo has an NFL team, Montreal has a CFL team. Buffalo has AAA baseball, Montreal will have no team in two years. Buffalo has various NCAA teams around. Advantage? Buffalo, again.

I'm not one to buffalo bash, and all those are good points. I can only speak to the places where I've lived, and if you asked me to choose where I'd prefer to work (which is what these guys were asked) maybe Buffalo wouldn't be my 1st choice.

Buffalo like a Canadian city? They do have high taxes, that's for sure.

LOL.. no just the atmosphere and the type of city it is.. being close to Canada and all.. just gives off that vibe. I'd know considering I am Canadian.. hehe.. but it's not all that of an American city.. I dunno.. it's hard to explain.. very very similar in some aspects.. and the people are so nice.. :)

I was born in Niagara Falls and all my family lives there except me. I live in Rochester now :)
I have some family in Buffalo and I have been there enough to know that any part of up state NY...... Buffalo,Niagara Falls and somewhat Rochester feel like a Canadian City. There is VERY much difference. BUT... anytime you have NHL hockey or any type of hockey.... rather it be NHL,AHL,college or even good ole' street hockey..... it always feels kinda' Canadian. Hockey is traditional in Canada. My Aunt lives in Canada. She lives right dow the street from a small Manchion on the lake in Burlington,ONT. ...... where Tim hortons family lives. My uncle is almost* head of GM trucks and he used to tell me stories when I was very young about him having to choepher* (sp.) The French Connection and the Sabres from 75'... and even used to bring The Toronto Maple leafs from place to place. Gilbert and Martin and and bunch of other guys used to make him go on beer runs after or sometimes before games and after the games.... he'd have to get them beer and bring them back to the hotel. He said they used to invite him in the hotel to party with them or at the bars. But like i said... anywhere you go ... it always kinda' feels the same.
Buffalo,Canada...... it doesn't matter.... every city has its own way of being incredable. :):):)
