I would fallow the Sabres anywhere they went....... But i wouldn't go to sleep without crying ......knowing that my favorite team is somewhere else. I would probably write the NHL a letter everyday asking them to bring them back.
I love my Sabres....... AND NOONE CAN EVER MAKE ME STOP LOVING THEM!!! I AM THEIR FAN!!!~
I would be more pissed at the fact that if they "DID" move..... I wouldn't be able to go to a game nor have that rush of sitting next to the locker room door..... congradulating them and giving them :highfive: after every intermission. It would break my heart!!!
"THEY ARE THE "BUFFALO SABRES", LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY!!!~"
I LOVE THE SABRES!!!!!!!! GO SABRES!!!
please don't make me think about this team leaving.... i am tearing!!!

I think I'd still be a fan of the Sabres. Even if they are the Portland Sabres or whatever. They aren't really a home team for me right now anyways so it wouldn't make much of a difference. Although I wouldn't be able to go to any games if they move far away. I still don't want this to happen. They are Buffalo's team and they should not be moved for any reason. They have a strong history and tradition behind them.

No I would be a Thrashers fan, Sabres without Buffalo is like sex without an orgasm.

I have a follow up question.
Are any of you guys LA Clippers fans? Just curious, since they were in Buffalo until 1978 as the Braves. I'm not a hockey fan so I can't really say anything about the Sabres, but if the Bills moved (God forbid), I would not like them anymore. They would cease to be the team I grew up with, no Buffalo logo... the Bills nickname would make no sense in any other city. They would be the equivalent of the Baltimore Ravens; an entirely different entity. I would move my loyalty elsewhere. P.S. I am a long suffering Clips fan, even though I got into them in 1993 before I knew they ever played in Buffalo.

Good question Billy, the answer is, No. Once they left, that was it.
The REAL Sabres

Briefly I would. It would be loosely casual if Portland and dissipate after most of the current team moves on.
BTW Billy, I am a Clippers fan because when I wanted to show allegiance to the NBA, I figured they were the former Braves, by looking into it, so I became a fan of them.

The Bledsoe trade with the Pats probably was the cosmic makeup for Mangurian and Brown doing their Boston/Buffalo trade in 1978.
I would like to see the Sabres stay. I have too many Western NY friends who love the team, so I want them to stay for my buddies. They are great for Upstate NY, even though I personally don't understand hockey, growing up in basketball dominant Central New York.
I'm still concerned about the long term future of the Bills. I guess I'm paranoid but I don't know who would buy them to keep them in Buffalo. I hope Ralph is doing some good finagling with the tax lawyers to prevent what happened to Hugh Culverhouse. I don't see a Glazer family in Buffalo; with Tom Golisano being the only super wealthy guy. Hopefully he will live long enough to avoid the death tax and his wife or kids can hold onto the team.
Here is an odd rumor too; Rochester is considered a somewhat decent prospect for a future NBA team. I don't know where the team would play since the BCA is so inadequate.

The only way I'd stay with the Sabres is if they stayed in the Eastern Conference. If they move outside then I'll have to pick up another Eastern Conference team. It's all about Eastern Conference, baby.

It would depend on where they go I guess. I agree with jj@jj.com. If they stay in the Eastern Time Zone, I would.
How about this one:
If the team was contracted, and a subsequent dispersal draft initiated, you would have your pick of the leauge on who to cheer for!

My pick of the league is Buffalo, thank you very much.

It's an interesting question to consider, really... I've been a Sabres fan as long as I've been a hockey fan and I can't imagine not being able to root for them... On the other hand, how long can I be a fan of a team I can't watch... Unless we get coverage of them wherever they go, I don't know if I'll be able to stay a fan... I will, of course, hope they do well, but I think I might need to find another team to be "my" team... Heck, I'm almost done with school, maybe I'll just move somewhere with a team...

never.

as far as i'm concerned, what defines a hockey team is its location. players change, coaches change, but what makes the buffalo sabres the buffalo sabres is the fact that they're in buffalo. after the fall, i think i'd switch to my local blackhawks. or maybe the chicago wolves...
