Sabres need a change.
Mika earned another start by his performance in Edminton.

It's apples and oranges at this point. Just like the first 50 games last year, this team does not have confidence in the goalie. I don't know if Mika would be better, but it continues to be a guessing game not only with the team and fans, but also with the coaches. It would be a lot easier if Marty would just prove he's the man, but he just can't. I'd say go with Mika for a 5 game stretch and see where it goes. Can't be any worse than what's going on right now.

Yeah, Mika would've had that Cassels goal, undoubtedly. But the other 2, no goalie could have stopped them; we need to rethink our pressuring of the point and clearing the slot strategies, immediately!!!!!!!!!!

^Coaching adjustments? It's a good thing that we aren't talking about the Bills here.

While I don't think Marty has been the problem with the Sabres, I think Mika could be a bigger part of the solution. Marty is a good goalie, but I really like Mika and I believe if he was given a shot by Lindy he could become a very very good goalie in this league and maybe win a few games for the Sabres that Marty would not have.

Is Mika that much better on the PP than Marty?

Marty is the man.
Will always be the man in my book.
I love Mika, watched him in Rochester for 2+ years, he gained me as a fan.
But, I am a devout Bironian, I worship at my local Church of Biron, and have my own meditation place in my room with a Biron pillow that i sit on.
So I say, stick with Marty. Other goalies took a while to get their footing. Dont bail on him now.

Hey, maybe we can play Marty at forward, could he do any worse then Curtis Brown? Um, just kidding about Biron at forward.

I wish there was just one problem with this team as this statement infers, but that's just not the case. A good PP would help solve the problem, but perhaps shaking up the goal-tending situation may as well.
To quote Hitch when he benched Dan McGillis the other night "we need him to play error free hockey". Sabres need that out of their goal-tender right now, especially when the PP isn't producing.

My point is that the chances of sparking this team's offense by switching the goaltenders is highly unlikely. And the two main reasons this team is losing games is because they aren't scoring goals and they are allowing too much traffic in the slot which is resulting in a ton of goals via tips, deflections, and screen shots.
And once again, switching from Marty to Mika in goal isn't likely to help out that situation.
But since the team is playing like a$$ anyway, it wouldn't be a bad idea to sit Marty down and explain to him that they are going to make a switch for 3 or 4 games, but it's not because of his play.
I mean, you take out the first two games and they are averaging 1.5 goals for per game. That's pathetic.
And in Mika's two starts, the team has scored 3 goals. That's right on the 1.5 goals per game average..........
