A New Jersey congressional candidate is airing a campaign commercial that uses the image of Beltway Sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad. A gun control commercial produced for Democrat Anne Sumers notes that while her Republican opponent Scott Garrett "shouldn't be blamed for the sniper," Garrett's "positions are the problem." As the commercial delivers this swipe, an image of a mocked-up newspaper story appears, carrying Muhammad's photo and the headline, "Sniper suspects held; links to N.J. probed."

I hate negative campaign ads. They are all so full of crap.

The world of politics is ugly.

Ugly and getting worse everyday it seems.

I just got an add in the mail for a local township commitee race in a small community that was just dirty as hell.

It's nice to know it's gotten to that level.

Here in Florida, the negative ads are rather tame. But still, I wonder who is actually influenced by negative ads?

Anyone with a brain knows they are all total crap.

The Golisano/Pataki radio ads WGR runs are despicable on both sides.

Those two have been real dirty.

We have a Senate race in NJ (the one Torricelli dropped out of) that has turned real ugly real fast. Frank Lautenburg has dragged it to a level I haven't seen yet but every time you turn around this election season a new low is reached.

The candidiate that throws the least mud is the one to vote for, they have less to hide.

Random question:

Who the hell should I vote for here in Florida on tuesday?

Jeb Bush & Bill McBride are two of the most god awful idiots on the face of the earth.

Seriously.

I think I'd rather choke on my own vomit & die then support either of these lying bufoons. Anyone familiar with these guys?

I wouldn't mind a little input if anyone would be so kind.

Please Joe, vote for McBride.

All the fundamentalists will be voting for Jebby.

That's aside from the fact that Jeb's an integral part of the Bush Evil Empire.

A vote for a Bush is a vote for a group of murderous gangsters.

Just ask yourself. Who would Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell want you to vote for?

Joe mama I face the same dilemma. Choosing the lesser of two evils. Jeb says Bill will raise taxes to teach our children. Bill says he has Jeb on tape saying he has devious plans to derail ... presciption drugs or something. The whole thing is really surreal as usual. I'm voting Bill just because I think change is good. My biggest reason for voting is to pass amendment 6 to get smokers out of restaurants. Sorry if your a smoker it's not personal.

Shiva,

Haha. That's a good way to sway my opinion. Make a connection between Jeb & fundamentalism. Very clever!

The sad thing is, I think it's true. Bush Sr. believes that all non-christians (mainly atheists) are "2nd class citizens" in this country. Bush Sr. espoused that beautiful comment a few years ago. It's nice to know the Bush's think I'm not a real American...

bigdog,

When it comes to the education issue, no one is worse than Jeb. Supposedly, McBride will be better for education, but at what cost...?

This much I do know. Jeb is responsible for attempting to eliminate "bright futures" scholarships, which are funded by state lotto (not tax money) to assist middle class families put children thru college. This scholarship is also merit based, so not just anyone can get it. You have to maintain very good grades.

Furthermore, Jeb's proposed bill would eliminate bright futures just so he could replace it with a large portion of the education bill instead. So instead of using lotto to supplement education, he wanted to use it to supplant education. Terrible idea. Society doesn't benefit when the richest kids go to college, society benefits when the smartest kids go to college.

Luckily, Florida legislature shot it down very quickly.

Don't worry, you aren't offending me. I don't smoke.

In fact, I think smoking is for pigs! I get the urge to fill up a waterbaloon full of gasoline & throw it at smokers everytime they light up. No, just kidding.

However (& you're going to hate me for this), I'm definately voting NO on ammendment 6. I think private owners should have the right to decide if someone can or cannot smoke in their vaccinity. It's their establisment so they should have ultimate jurisdiction.

Plus, most restaraunts already have designated smoking & non-smoking areas. Although, I don't know how effective it is because smoke permeates everywhere usually...

Nonetheless, I think the best solution is for non-smokers who feel strongly about not-smoking in public to quit patronizing restaraunts that allow smoking. If enough people felt that way, restaraunts would ban smoking on their own accord without any government induced red tape.

Each non-smoker that stops visiting restaraunts will represent a loss in revenue. Eventually, businesses would probably change their smoking rules if it was hurting their income.

Looks like we're cancelling each other out brother. Gotta love democracy. I was a big smoker once so i'm being a hypocrite but I can't stand the shit now and if the government wants to impose there righteous will on smokers and restaurant owners i'm all for it.

Jeb Bush should be worrying about his daughter the crackhead.

For the first time in my life, I'm going to cast a ballot in favor of a democrat. McBride over Bush. I simply can't vote for a guy whose family thinks I'm a "second class citizen" because I don't love Jesus. At the worst, at least McBride will be better than Jeb for education. Our 47th rated education system can't get any worse, right?

Looks like my track record is over... sigh.

But hey, that's the American way! Voting for the lesser of two evils.

Thank God I have so many options! God Bless Ameri... nevermind.
