Being the loyal ESPN viewer that I am, I feel obliged to complain about the horendous coverage the NHL gets on the ESPN networks. The highlights are shoved to the back of the show behind preseason NBA action, stories about some abstract football things, and commentaries by players and ESPN personalities. The coverage on sports talk shows like PTI, the Sports Reporters, the Worst F-in talk show Period and national radio shows is equally terrible. Everyone takes pot shots at the NHL for being all fighting and no excitement. People seem to think that no one goes out to see these teams play, either. That couldn't be further from the truth, just look at attendance in places like Columbus, Atlanta, Phoenix and Nashville, hardly places people would think of hockey being popular. I really love all of the other major leagues, but Hockey is sadly represented in today's media, and for all the wrong stereotypical reasons, in my view.

Anyone have an opinion?
