lucky to escape with a point, ales kotalik being in right place at right time. the one bright spot tonight game was zhitniks last second saving naslund on beakaway, even though he was penalized....way to go zhitnik...the sabres played another game of inspired hockey, goin 0-7 on powerplay yes 0-7...as for the ownership situation can anyone explain to me how the sabres could be worth 100 000 million dollars, im starting to wonder if hamisters bid isnt lowbid afterall.. as for the attendance situation, why doesnt the management ask the fans what it would take to buy seaon tickets and then each side does there part even if that does mean bringing back teddy who sold out a quite a few games.....another point that was brought out in tonights game was, regarding hasek, who stole many games for the sabres over his tenure with them....his shutouts in games meant sabres didnt have to score to get points, im wondering how many games were won in that scenario? anyone care to find out.........

Based on the highlights in the Sports Report this morning it looked like the Sabres were unlucky to only get a point. They had 3 or 4 chances where they either hit a post or the puck was trickling in the crease only to be cleared away by the Canucks defense. Add in that the Sabres outshot the Canucks by almost 10 SOG and I can't say that they were lucky to get a point in this one.

the canucks are a good team, getting a point in GM place is nothing to be ashamed of .

I saw most of the game and we outplayed them in the second half of the game we should have won, but it was a much needed point

It's important to start off with points when the team goes out west. Now we really need a win to make the trip a success.

Even though Ruff probably didn't intend this, but Ales Kotalik almost single-handedly won the game in OT after tying it at the end of regulation. The new blood from Rochacha hit the crossbar on a breakaway in OT. However, the rest of the team, like Vancouver, can't score as of late.
The officials were horrible last night. Even Jim Hughson said it, and I'm guessing either Rick or Jim said it as well. Terry Gregson is a terrible ref. No penalty when Morrison high-sticked Connolly, and Boulton a penalty for no conceiveable reason, were just a few of Gregson and Morton's gaffes. If I were the NHL, I would stop putting a rookie with Gregson; the results so far have been disasterous.

Man Mikeylikes... why are you bringing up Nolan. That situation will work itself out when ownership is settled. Coaches do not sell out Hockey games for long or at all for that matter, winning hockey does. Is there a guarantee that if Nolan comes in that the players will respond to him? The management of the Sabres have no business asking the fans who the coach should be. The Sabres coaching is not an episode of American Idol.

i watched the game on digital cable, I slept throught the 1st period, was not impressed by the second, and thought the sabres played hard the 3rd and OT. They could have stole the win, but did they deserve it? I don't know.
Biron made some big saves, and I think the D gets a first star, (great play from Zhitnik, Tallendar, Woolley, Warriner, McKee) along with the penilty kill, though vancouver has been having it's problems on the power play and in the 3rd, holding a lead.

You're right.. Biron was great! I enjoyed the game last night.. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the 3rd period and OT.. we were so close at stealing a point.. JB although the Sabres had some great chances.. that's not to say the Canucks didn't.. because they did.. they had a couple 5 on 3 as I recall and they couldn't score.. they had lots of pressure on the Sabres at the start.. but then the Sabres did pick it up and they did deserve a point... I guess it's alright that both team got a point.. but I would have been happier had Kotalik scored in OT rather than hit the post.........

if my expectations are fifferent of those of some around here...we watched most of the game, all of the third, and felt it was lackadaisal, effortless, for most part with exception of maybe last five min and overtime weere the sabres skated with canucks...if this is the kind of playing team that most want thats ok too, but id like to se the effort like the first two games, and it just aint happening....

empire sports report...josh said in his report that sabre's fans should be lucky that the game was not on empire....because it was a tedious game to watch and the sabre's were lucky to escape with one point. hmmmmmm where have i heard that one? i realize the fans here that believe the sabre's are playing good hockey. how ever i believe they are not playing the way they can play, as the first 2 games indicated, against the islanders and the habs, no one can argue that point. again i say with the exception of the last 5 minutes of the game yesterday, they were lucky to escape with a point..... just my 2 cents

Don't you think that the fact that the Sabres played two teams that are struggling had a bit to do with how they looked inthose two games?
And how can a team outshoot their opponent by almost 10 shots and not show up?
