The Buffalo Bills - New York's only professional football team.

The local paper here about 90 miles north of NYC has just Giants and Jets coverage, if there is anything on New Yorks real team it is about a paragraph long (if that), the paper is great for the puppy however.

The "New York" in the Post and Times is for NYC. Just like Buffalo News, Rochester D&C. For me, in the burbs, for local news, I have to buy a local newspaper. And I'm about 30 minutes outside of the City.

you're obviously not an NYer and have no connection to the city. I grew up there, and the NYer magazine cartoon that shows the city, the Hudson and the world accurately portrays the self-image we have.
To think - for even a moment- that inhabitants of those five boroughs think even marginally as living in part of the same state you live in shows a lack of connection as distant as theirs. Their papers only accurately portray their readership.
And as an aside...when was the last time you read an article about the NY Jets or Giants in the Buffalo Evening News. Stop being a pompous jerk.
There's your feedback.

Does the Washington Times cover the whole state of Washington? lol - sarcasm alert!

The Wall Street Journal only covers what happens on Wall Street.

Bogus...do you have a subscription or have you ever read the WSJ? It's an international paper, intend on covering everything there is to know about business.
Point is, the two New York papers are local papers, no less so than the Seattle PI or the Chicago Trib. They cover the events of the city and its localities- and most importantly what's important to it's readers the majority of whom live in the counties surrounding NYC.
They do not purport themselves to be a state-wide voice. No local daily could or would.

Read my column first before you argue. My point is Buffalo is the ONLY TEAM to play in New York and how much press coverage do we get from those two papers? 1% I would just like that to change and if your a REAL Bills fan you would want that to.......

Personally I think the Cedar Rapids Gazette should cover the Bills games better. They don't even send a reporter to the games (and I offered my services for the air ticket, game ticket and hotel cost).

I hope you counted the emails of praise more accurately than you counted the city/state voters!

How much coverage does the Giants get in Buffalo News? Same thing. NY Times, NY Post, NY Daily News cover NY CITY - NOT STATE!

Aparently we are in the minority BF1, but as was once said, "The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane."

why should the BUFFALO news, which is supposed to focus on Buffalo, cover the Giants or Jets?

I know the whole area situation but my case is a few articles a week wouldnt hurt them to publish..........

That's the point I was trying to make.
Why should the NY Post, NY Daily News and NY Times focus when it's a NYC area paper?!

are dense or simply stupid? I did read your article...twice. I regretted it both times.
If you got 3000 emails that praised that article it only means you have gotten a response from 3000 idiots. What a bogus waste of time.

There is a KC Kansas too.

P.S. City papers should focus on city/area teams, not statewide.

I was just joking about the WSJ. I was imagining stories about gutters and street signs and traffic signals and street markings . . . nevermind.
And of course Kansas City is in MO, which is kinda funny. Kinda.
The Kansas City Star covers the coming out parties of MO's top debutante's.
Obviously a paper is going to cover the stories that their demographic dictates. But there's nothing wrong with a Bills fan being so proud of their team that they want every paper to cover them.

Like Ask (or Hal or whoever) said, NY papers think if it isn't in the city it doesn't exist.
They have trouble with LongIsland, Westchester and North Jersey, does anyone think they will cover Buffalo.
BTW BT, I got your WSJ joke and laughed a little bit.

This whole thread will be mute if the Bills become playoff contenders. Everyone will be covering them.
By the way, just my two cents, newspapers cover the area in which the are published in. It would be like the Washington Post covering Tampa Bay in detail. That just doesn't make any sense.
