I hope John Gruden can turn Rob Johnson around. He's a good guy who simply had a black cloud over his head in Buffalo. Even when he would find a way to win, the team would end up losing...
If he does well, congrats. He deserves it.

Yah, and he'll look great next week against the Panthers. And fans will call sports talk show and want him to start. And Brad will start looking over his shoulder. And eventual Gruden will bench Brad for Rob. And the old Rob will return ( Deer in the headlights), thus, starting Tampas downward spiral and Grudens demise as coach of TB.

RJ was the wrong person, in the wrong place at the wrong time while in Buffalo.
The Bucs have a decent OLine and running game. This could be his chance, or he could ride the bench for years to come. I wish him luck and no concussions

Doesn't the Panthers' D have rookie QB killer Julius Peppers?

I was one of those RJ backers while he was here in Buffalo and it hurt me when we let him go. But now we got Drew and I coulden't be happier. Anyways, if he starts I hope he plays well. He has the o-line, backs and recievers to succedd. And their D is illegal, so he should succedd if given the chance.

I saw RJ's performance against the Eagles... same ole stuff, an occasional good throw, pulling the ball down and taking off and getting hit at the sideline instead of throwing it away. Thank god we finally have a QB!

"I'm very excited," said Johnson. "We're coming off a tough loss and you're sad about that, but then you're fired up to get your opportunity. It's too bad that Brad's got to be out, but it's an opportunity for me."
A quote from Rob this week about his new role. Notice he's still arrogant, and still very, very stupid. Yeah, it's too bad Brad's hurt but I'm going to start the disscention right now.

Can't say much until we see him live starting for the first time for the Bucs.

I heard Steve Tasker last night saying that nothing has helped RJ improve yet and it seems that nothing is going to. He still has all the bone-headed bad habits that he had in Buffalo. When is the Gruden influence going have an effect?

That's the one thing that bugged me about RJ - everyone expecting "good coaching" to change him. The guy has been playing football for 20 years - a couple of months of coaching (non-exclusive, I might add) are not going to change the habits of a guy built up over a matter of years. He didn't know enough to throw the ball away rather than take a sack to put us out of FG range when he was with the Bills (under more than one coach), so I would not expect that he will suddenly know not to do it with Tampa.
I wish the guy well - I have nothing against him - but I would not expect some sudden transformation because he has (yet another) coach.

I heard a Buc fan on a national call in show this week say the exact opposite - that the O line was bad and Alstott has had only one good game this year. The host (I think it was Sporting News radio) said that there is really no way for them to fix their O line in the middle of the season, and it will have to wait until next year.
I have not followed TB, but that is what they were saying . . .

If he make's bonehead plays this week, Keyshan will rip him a new ---. Someone for the Bills chewed him out on the sidelines a few years ago. don't remember who, maybe Bruce.
