CNN is reporting that US investigators will question al Qaeda detainees about the D.C. sniper attacks. Could it be the work of al Qaeda?

IMO, the answer is no.

Could it be, anything is possible and in light of recent events, it's even more possible. Is it, I doubt it. The investigators will look into it just so they can say they turned over every stone. If they turn up something, then I'm wrong. I still think they're doing just to satisfy the conspiracy theorist.

Could it be the work of al-Qa'ida? Sure. Absolutely. There's even some evidence to suggest they were planning urban attacks, though sniper attacks and training did NOT seem to be part of their training.

Possibly fueling the speculation are reports that the sniper is "olive-skinned" and that he had a second man in the truck he was driving.

IMHO, though, this is probably not al-Qa'ida. Either your run-of-the-mill serial killer or a slinter/domestic group, but I've seen nothing to indicate this is an al-Qa'ida operation.

I feel like some vigilante justice right now.

I'd love to see someone step up & take this son of a bitch out.
