I think the Jet's have a Better Defense than the Bronco's but just have not put it together yet. With that been said I diffently think we can move the ball on these guys. Yes they beat the Rams and 49niners but they each have maybe 3 or 4 stars where we have Drew, Eric, Price, Reed , Jay, Ruben , Winfield, Clements, Henry, Williams and Aaron. What do you guys think?

Um.. what are you basing this on? The Jets are ranked 14th out of 16 team in the AFC. They allowed 44 points to the Pats. This is a good defense? We allowed less points to two of the most offensively potent teams in the NFL.. COMBINED. The Jets have looked very porous on defense thus far, IMO. You can say the Denver defense hasn't completely gelled yet either.. I expect them to do even better.

Comparisons? Denver has allowed 105 yards rushing in 2 games, vs. the Jets 305. Passing? Denver is at 485, Jets at 511. Scoring? Denver has allowed 30 points in 2 games. The Jets have allowed 75. Sacks? The Jets lead sacker.. has 1.

So I don't understand how you can 1. think the Jets have a better D, and 2. can even compare them. The Broncos have better defensive stats in only um.. every category. Against offenses with very potent weapons I might add.

Not trying to be difficult.. just confused! There are teams with much better D's than the Jets.

Agreed Fox, to compare the two at this point in the season (after the Jets give up 31 and 30 - two scores by the Pats D) is strange to say the least.

Right now the Broncos are playing some of the best D in the league. That can't be overlooked.

For one the Defense did not allow all of those points they came via fumble returns and Ints returns from the offense. What about ints from there corners. Ok you guys have some of the stats but there personel is better.

We have all of the stats, and we have some great players in Denver. And it hardly matters what talent you have if it isn't utilized correctly. Just ask Denver when we had Greg Robinson *sniff* He was great while we had a great offense. But when we lost our offensive power due to retirements, injuries, etc.. he was awful. He is now stinking it up down in KC. =) We have some great talent in Gold, Wilson, Pryce, ONeil and Dalton. We have arguably if not definitively the fastest linebacking corp in the league.

I don't care who the Jets may have, they are doing dismal so far this year. There is no comparison at all, at least not by this piont in the season. And while offenses tend to improve as the year goes by, defenses it seems tend to stay the same once they are set at the beginning of the year. They are either good, average, or bad. Jets have a bad D.

Of the 3 choices, no question.
Broncs, hands down.

The Jets have looked terrible, and thier fans will tell you they have a number of new players who will jell and they will improve greatly, I don't see them in the same league with Denver. They have an experienced and demonstrated track record. The Denver posts are right on, they have played off the Rams and San Fran receivers and crushed them with very hard hits, slowing two excellent offensive systems down. The Jets have looked slugish, and out of position against the run.

This by far is the biggest display of homerism I've seen on this board yet.

As a denver fan I will let your own fans educate you on this one. They are doing a great job making the points that I would make.
Your own poll up to this point has no one voting for any one but Denver, just concede the point and move on.

Now, Bronco's

Later, probably the Jets.. sorry but they have way more talent... although the Pats D is awesome and they lack superstar's also...

It's too early to tell.

I love the fact that the Bronco's haven't faired well vs. the pass. Therefore, we can either burn them through the air... OR they will realize that we have an awesome air-attack while that is their weakness (not saying it's bad, but it's weaker than the run d) and when they concentrate too much on our passing game using nickel and dime packages, we use our big OL and run it down their throats!

It is way to early in the season to put any stock in statistics that are an average of two samples...

the notion that the Broncos have not faired well against the pass is entirely misplaced. They've given up receiveing yards due to the fact that after the 1st qtr of both games the opposing offense abandoned the run nearly entirely.

teams have attempted fewer rushes against us than any other team in the league, and we've only given up a handful of plays over ten yards. Faulk had 91 yards receiving against us with a long of 10.

the longest pass play we gave up to the 49ers was 15 yards, and Owens' longest was 9. Neither the Rams nor the 9ers were able to beat us deep, and the 9ers got a third of their offense on their final drive when the game was already over.

you'll see just how rude our defense is on sunday. Your only hope again is to keep the Broncos off the board.

Neither the Jets or Broncos have great DBs. Both the Jets and Broncos play a two deep zone to protect their CBs from the long ball.

Both the Jets and Broncos have great linebackers. I think the Jets have bigger linebackers. Sam Cowart may not be full speed yet following his ACL injury a year ago. The Broncos may have faster LBs. I guess in theory that means you want to run at them rather than away from them.

The Jets D-line was a little beat up at the start of the season. Comparing the two lines is almost an apples to oranges effort. The Jets start two slightly undersized edge rushers at DE, Abraham and Bryan Thomas. Thomas is a rookie, a first rounder but a rookie just the same. There are some who think Thomas may have been a reach in round one, though I admit to liking him a great deal leading up to the draft.

Denver has Trevor Pryce who is more of a Michael Strahan type end. He's big and athletic. He can probably bullrush, which I wouldn't expect the Jets ends to attempt. The interior linemen of both teams are good but nothing special. McGlockton has been around for a long time. He's plenty big but probably not any better than Buffalo's Pat Williams.

I can see where Buffalo would have a tougher time running against Trevor Pryce than John Abraham. If I were the Bills I'd do my running away from Pryce's side and not try to run outside all that much because the Denver backers will chase down the outside run. I'm not that afraid of Denver's interior size because Buffalo has plenty of size on its O-line. Sullivan and Williams will out weigh anly two linemen to the right of center in the NFL, and they're both athletic to boot. If I test the Bronco's run defense, that's where I test it. The other thing I do if I'm Kevin Gilbride is see how much I can hurt Denver with the underneath passing game in seams of the zone. That's the inherent weakness of the 2 deep zone. The two deep zone works because it forces the offence to play mistake free football in order to finish off long drives and score. If a WR drops a ball and the RB gets shut down for a short gain, all of a sudden it's third and long.
