The USA has held on for tight 28-24 victory over Uruguay in a rare Thursday night test played in San Francisco, to maintain it’s second place standing in the Americas Zone World Cup Qualifying round.
The top two countries from the Americas group qualify for RWC 2003, while the third placed team enters the repechage process.
The victory gives the US 8 points behind the Canadians who are undefeated and play Chile on Saturday in Calgary.
Looks pretty good to me. Eagles to Australia in 2003!!
