Check out the last bit of this story on the Sabres from the AP - it says the NHL will renegotiate the Sabres' broadcasting rights, which could mean WGR could bid on them...

I doubt WGR would get the radio deal. They would likely not be able to get Rick and Jim to call the games if Empire gets the TV deal and who wants to hear someone else call the games?

It may be tough, but I have a feeling that Empire and WNSA will keep the broadcasting rights. But now the Sabres wil actually get market value for them. What a novel concept.
