I hope they can get a deal done. I really want to see Miller playing for the Amerks this year.

I hope we sign him. I love having not to worry about goal tending for a long time.

Man it would be great to have 3 top flight goalies... If Miller signs though.. I would not be suprised to see one of them shipped at the deadline for a sniper if the Sabres are in contention.

It's not a dollar he won't give up, but a dollar he doesn't have. That's a huge difference.

Good Article, but I think that's 'homer' hype. What's keeping Miller out of the AHL is a career with the buffalo sabres. It's be noted on more than one occasion that Miller didn't see "his place" in buffalo's plans, especially since they have already have two very good players in goal. He also been written that the financial stability of this club was cause for concern.
I may be getting this wrong, but I believe several of his "boys at Michigan State" have already opted out of their Junior and Senior years to start their professional careers, so a championship may be a pipe dream...

Nope, the two high profile guys that left school were both Michigan Wolverines (Komisarek (Habs) and Cammalleri (Kings)). That helps Michigan State's CCHA title chances, but I still think they haven't added enough firepower and talent in front of Miller to be legit NCAA title contenders this year.

Does it really matter if Miller signs this year or next? The Sabres have Marty and Mika and hopefully for a long time. Ryan Miller is the least of my worries. The Sabres need someone to put the puck in the net, not another goalie. Thats if they are in Buffalo in a few years.

It matters in that the Amerks have a hole in goal right now and it would be in the Sabres best interest if he turned pro sooner, rather than later. That way they could move one of the 3 goalies at next year's draft. The 2003 draft class is supposed to be one of the best classes in a while so it would be nice to have some trade ammo. And until Miller turns pro the Sabres don't really know what they have yet.
