Well, yeah, but I don't see good football on that list. I mean, what's important?

Does anyone REALLY believe the US has 99% literacy? I don't.

They applied that figure for some reason, I am not sure why. Firstly, they obviously excluded Fin Fans. Secondly, I assume they thought it didn't make any difference in the top ranked countries. Don't ask me why.

I also think the average income is a bit skewed. IMO, the American number is higher than it should be in reality simply because of the high end figures pulling it up. I've live in both countries and I've formulated the theory that in the US the high and low is greater than in Canada, but Canada has the higher mean standard of living.

Who cares if some ranking says Canada is better. The weather sucks, there are too many French people, and I heard the Canadian version of lingerie is tube socks with a flannel.

No thanks.

What you don't see above is that Canada came in ahead of the US in three very important catigories in the rankings:

Beer

Doughnuts

Strip Joints

Strength in these catigories overcame the Average Income differential and pushed Canada ahead.

Better beer? Fair enough, John, fair enough... Canada is better in that department. I like Moosehead quite a bit.

Better doughnuts? Sike! Nothing beats fresh Krispy Kreme. Nothing.

Remember, Joe, the evaluation includes QUANTITY (availability) in addition to quality. And Canada has the most doughnut shops per cap in the world!

There's a place in my home town called Homestead donuts. If you can ever get your hands on some, do it. There isn't a better donut anywhere in modern civilization.
