This thread hardly belongs on the BILLS Hard Core board! Since you guys were so "nice" to me when all I asked is that you leave the Flutie thread here long enough for Bogus to see it. I say this thread needs to be moved ASAP!

Moderators, where are you? This doesn't belong here either. Two can play at this game and since I rarely start threads on the hard core board that are "off topic" I say if you're going to be strict with me when you have many other posters starting OT threads on a daily basis, then you have to be strict with EVERYONE.

Secondly, I thought that there might be other people who would be interested in seeing the pictures besides Bogus, which is why I posted them and why I chose the Hard Core board. If I do post OT items, I always do it in the Asylum.

And lastly, whether or not you care to acknowledge it, Doug Flutie was a part of the Bills organization for 3 years. Regardless if they were good or bad years, he was still a part of the team. I see and hear people talking about past Bills ALL THE TIME. I'm sorry if you don't like this particular past Bill, but he was still a part of the team. Also, I rarely bring up Doug or the whole RJ/DF controversy. I don't turn threads into an RJ/DF debate nor do I start thread that deal with either one of them.

If my thread bothered you, you shoudl have done the mature thing and just ignored it! Put me on "ignore" if I upset you. And no, my feelings aren't hurt at all. I don't let insignificant people get me down. There are many more important people and things in my life.

First of all, I was messing with you so chill out. No, don't get any chillier...warm up!

And yes, I frequently post OT there. ANd I ALWAYS qualify it with something like, "Mods, feel free to move this whenever you want." Like they need my permission. I never beg to leave it there, and never whine when it gets moved.

As I said, most OT posts don't bother me. I skip them. But most don't eat up bandwidth with pictures of a former Bills player who has a cult following of people who think he's cute.

And you KNEW there would be people who wouldn't like the photos. You KNEW they would tick some people off, and yet you still posted them there. Personally, it didn't tick me off. I'm just tired of hearing about the whole thing.

And whether you acknowledge it or not, the Flutie-Johnson era is one of the saddest things that ever happened in team history. Two ego-maniacs with average skills who used their position to establish cult followings and advance their own agendas. Flutie with his flakes and RJ with his "Rob-bots" tore this team apart. To see fans still obsessing over certain ones, especially to the extent people obsess over the tiny cancer, wears on one's patience. When Bruce, Andre, and Thurman all left, there was NOWHERE NEAR this kind of outcry and obsession. And they gave FAR MORE to this team than Doug (or Rob) ever did.

Do you see Wys in here lamenting the departure of Rob Johnson? Is Shag here posting pictures of him, knowing that people are sick and tired of it? Nope. Just the obsessed Flaky Fans of Flutie.

And you DO bring Doug up. All the time. You started THIS thread about him, and he comes up numerous times in other threads.

Do other ex-players come up? SUre. Once in a while. We'll see something about RJ on the Bucs or Cowart on the Jets (actually, we haven't seen anything about Sam). There's stuff on Cottrell. But they're few and far between on each player.

Flutie Flakes bring him up ALL THE DAMN TIME.

IYO. I'll say it again: Western NY loved Flutie. You may not know that because you are in CO or because you think that the regular posters on this board are representative of Bill's fans. Have you noticed all the lurkers? What is the ratio of active posters to lurkers? Maybe they don't post because they don't want to be treated this way. That was the case with me. Lurked forever. Then when I just had to post something (to defend DF), you people jumped all over me. If I were someone else, I'd have probably logged off and never come back. Too bad for you. :D

It astounds me that people are that bothered by the photos of Flutie or RJ or the very mention of either. While the Doug/Rob years certainly were not a highlight of Bills history it still happened. What’s the big deal? If Jaded or anyone wants to talk about, worship, bitch about or post photos of any Bills player, so what.

As far as the bandwidth thing with the photos, plenty of pictures, avatars, animated smiley faces etc burn up bandwidth, one more picture of a vertically challenged QB who Jaded thinks is cute isn’t going to put us over the edge.

Well, first of all it was a sarcastic/humorous (I thought, anyway) post on the jerseys (which was ON-TOPIC for the hardcore board, BTW), not a serious request for help. It was a JOKE. Second, I would avoid commenting on things you know nothing about, Jaded. My departure from BBI was predicated on a LOT more than became public knowledge.

And as I indicated, it didn't piss me off until all the defensiveness about Eb moving it. I just agreed with whoever said it should be moved. Then Jaded got all pissy and defensive about it. My OT posts get moved all the time, usually within 24-hours. I don't get defensive about it.

Posters on this board ARE representative of Bills fans, BT. They didn't used to be, when it was smaller, but now they truly are. Moreso than the official site or even TSW. MOST Bills fans realize that Flutie is the past. Hey -- I supported the guy. Thought he was exciting to watch until all the shiznit happened. Got his cereal, jersey, and starting lineup figure. And am TIRED of hearing about how great a football player he is. I think most Bills fans realize he was a novelty, like a bobble head doll. Really popular until the little spring breaks and you realize the quality isn't what you thought it was.

There is a huge chasm of difference between being the majority and being the vocal minority. I would bet that given a poll, most Bills fans would say they're 1) glad Flutie is gone, and 2) NOT a supporter of EITHER QB. Most realized we weren't going to win with either one.

Unfortunately, we'll never know. So keep believing you're in the majority and I'll keep believing you're not.
