Its not just his bad attitude, his game really dropped off. He was not a good goalie.

Not North Americans, but if the money is the same for the Europeans....

The mandatory MINIMUM size for a venue in the Continental League is 5,500 people.

5,500!!!

And there are plenty of teams that barely meet that minimum, and at least one I know of who has been given a temporary waiver until next season so that they can expand their current facilities.

The thought that this league will ever steal away more than a handful of prime players to bolster the interest in their league is way off...

The sheer fact that they have guys like Yashin and Emery are proof that players who can maintain NHL careers stay there.

lol at this quote from his agent:

I've been talking to Ray a lot over the last couple of months and I know he's taken a lot of steps to make changes.
Good luck Ray!!

Also, I tend to think of the Russian league as being kind of like baseball in Japan: it's a quality game with quality players and some North Americans do play there, BUT I would guess the real desire is to play in the NHL/MLB if possible in most cases. Malkin wouldn't even go back to his home country for a truckload more money than he signed for with the Pens.

I can't feel sorry for emery, because as the article stated he will make more money next year than he would of because of the buyout and the Russian deal.

I mean what a loser. He gets to go to a place with some of the hottest chicks on the planet and gets paid $2 million to play hockey. Loser! :angeldevil:

ah come on, you know he wants to stay here.

We can all probably agree that Emery is a *****. But does anyone really believe that a back-up goalie was the cause of the Sens' collapse? Shouldn't some of their veteran leaders stepped up and fixed the situation? Shouldn't Murray have dumped Emery back in February? I heard that during the Jason Smith press conference, Murray took a shot at Alfredson and company because he said something along the lines that Smith would bring the leadership that the Senators were missing.

Anyway, screw Emery...even if he was screwed already by Ottawa.
